Default all that saving for something

so we are all saving tons of money right ???

what is something that you are saving for...(you cannot say to pay-off debt or for your EF)....it has to be something that you plan to 'purchase' in the future....

what are you saving FOR ??

i think that the next big purchase that i am saving for is a trip to Puerto Rico in the fall...(IF the economy and the world are in a better place by then....)

“After the last tree has been cut down, after the last river has been poisoned, after the last fish has been caught.
Only then will you find that money can't be eaten.”

We are debt free as of this month and we have a 6 month EF in place. Now we are saving for our baby (due in July). Out of this savings will pay for my spring maternity clothes, birthing classes, hospital co-pays, baby specific items that we will buy if we don't receive them at our baby shower. That's where our "savings" will be going this year .

Specifically, I'd like to be able to afford to take my mom to Panama by Spring 2010. That's where her mom was born. Overall, my goal is to find alternate sources of income, to live totally debt free, and to never be slave to the "lender" again! FV has been a great way for me to stay focused on my goals.

Well, we got the gorgeous, mildly architecturally interesting fixer-upper in a fabulous neighborhood...

so now our savings go for strange things like a picnic table, a new patio, re-doing the hardwood floors.

Sounds boring, but it makes us happy!

Just got one thing I was saving for...a new bed. Our other we bought used about 10 years ago and it was literally broke. After 25 years I finally got a new bed and we got a great deal on it. Its a wood sleigh bed.

I save change and I've been selling some things on local sales (like Craig's List) and Ebay adding that money to the change and I've got enough saved for new flooring for the bathroom and kitchen and enough for 2 night stands to match the new bed. I'm going to have my bil a cabinet maker build those. I may possibly have him build me a pie safe cabinet to put some dishes in too. After that every dime I can get together is going to go toward building a new home.

Nothing, really. I'm just saving so I'll be ready when I want something, or decide to only work part-time.

I'm saving for a house! I want my boys to grow up in a nice place! And I would like it before they are too old to really enjoy having a house of their own to live in and have a nice yard to play in!! It's slow going, but I am determined!!

We're saving for fertility treatments. We're doing the free stuff that the military is paying for right now. But if/when those don't work, we're moving on to invitro fertilization (IVF with ICSI) in the Czech Republic, which is not covered by military insurance.

We're also saving for a house downpayment. We want to buy a house when we return stateside
