ok let's just all give the new girl a break
you people and your frugal ideas.....
in 'one' of my many 'frugality quests'.....i learned that i can wash the laundry in cold water only....use vinegar as softner....make my own soap.... all is going good so far....
and then i don't even have to use the dryer.....woohoo.... i can hang all the wet clothes outside on a nice sunny warm day....
now i don't have a 'traditional' clothesline..(HEY- i am NEW to this remember...) lol
so anyway...i hang the clothes on hangers -hang them on the lawn furniture...or stretch them out over the porch posts/railings....(poor mans laundry-line...but it's working).....
but NOONE told me about trees....trees & birds.....
(now some of you are already seeing where this is going and are already chuckling.... for those of you who have NO IDEA what i am talking about...read on...my little chicka-dees...read on....save yourselves.....)
trees are nice in themselves....they don't cause any harm...but in the spring...the birds come...and they fill the trees....and all the while they are sitting on the limbs singing their 'pretty little songs' as i 'joyfully' hang out the freshly cleaned laundry....
so a little while ago i figured the laundry that i hung this morning should be nice and dry and i can go out and get it, fold it and put it away......so out i go.......................
and guess what ????? those pretty little singing #@@ birds POOPED all over my laundry...... oh..hahahahahaha... to you too.....lol....
so now....the laundry is back in the washer....(on cold of course, with homemade det & vinegar).....and i am trying to help some of you 'newbies' to the sport....
RULE #1: DO NOT hang your clothes anywhere near a TREE !
that's it....that's the only rule i got.....learn it, love it, live it !!!!

Ooops sorry. Perhaps people just thought it was obvious not to put the line near trees. Don't wash the cars either when the forcast calls for rain
lol!

Oh, no! What a mess. You'd think they'd try to be courteous and avoid those clothes, but----nope.

Yeah, hanging clothes in GA- no fun either. Doesn't matter what colour your clothes actually are, they ALL come in yellow. Thank you GA pollen!

Oh, I'm sorry!
Just when you get over the ink debacle, now bird poop! LOL I hang a lot of clothes on hangers in my little laundry room and on the shower rods to dry, but that's it unfortunately. I don't have any place to hang things outside so haven't experienced that!

Here's another tip: Don't put a birdfeeder on the clothesline poles.
And don't hang stuff near pine trees. If you think birdie doo is fun, try getting tree sap out!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

do you think maybe the bird-feeder hanging in the tree might have had SOMETHING to do with it.......

Our line is near a tree. Only once in 5 years have I ever had bird poop on my clothes. My neighbor always is amazed that it hasn't happened more, especially since two doors down, a woman puts out bird seed and there are tons of pigeons who eat at her house, but sit on the top of our house all day.
