Prayers for a friend, please
If you're the praying type, or maybe just think of her...She's gotten herself into a lot of debt, can't pay her bills, though she wants to. Her nephew (great nephew, whatever...) didn't help, either. He wracked up some bills on one of her credit cards (wrote down the number, expiration date, etc...)... Her name's Virginia Walton.
She's got the paperwork for filing for bankruptcy, and is of the mind that it's the only thing she can do, as the debt reduction services won't take her. She's like a sister to me...
Thanks.

I just said a prayer, I hope everything turns around for her. God Bless.
Bankruptcy is a big decision.

She doesn't need prayers, she needs to file a police report about her stolen credit information and let her nephew pay the price for his theft. She's not liable for debts he ran up in her name w/o her consent but she has to *act*, to notify the police, to get those off her cards.
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

Once again, Greebo hit the nail on the head. Why is she letting him get away with theft? It may not get her out of debt enough to not file bankruptcy, but it just may stop him from doing this again. In any case I will keep her in my prayers.

Ya, I know she ought to turn in that kid. That's what everyone else has done to him in his life. His own mom hasn't stuck by him. My friend's living by the "love him, but don't let him do it again" kind of thought track. Tough love. Maybe it'll straighten the kid out. (Just don't let him out of your sight. He can be so sneaky.)
I'd like to help my friend with maybe just some little errand type stuff, but that's how that nephew got her into the fix she's in. But I don't want to end up where she's at, much as I love her, dear friend she is.
Somehow, I feel her filing for bankruptcy isn't the right decision for her. Things are slowly, so slowly getting better, and money is way tight... but how can I get her to have patience...
Sorry for thinking out loud. Sometimes I do that.
Anyway. Thanks for your prayers. Please continue to keep her in your thoughts.Last edited by Natalie; 03-24-2009 at 08:46 AM.

I understand your concern for your friend.....but I don't think I'd be posting someone's personal info/circumstances on the web and including her NAME! Unless of course she asked you to or gave you permision....

prayers for all concerned...
