Default what a difference a year makes....

so dh is off on his annual week long golf trip to panama city florida with this buddies....he left fri afternoon and will not be back until next friday or saturday....

normally from the moment he leaves (actually before he leaves) i am 'planning' my own trip...or 'trips' to be exact....trips to this store...or that store....or see how many times a person can eat taco bell in a week and not develop some type of 'sickness'....lol
now mind you...i have always been somewhat 'frugal'....my trips to the stores were actually 'hunts'....hunts for bargains, sales, clearances, deals of a lifetime...you get the idea... still not stuff i REALLY needed....

but this year is so much different...i did not begin the planning of the week-long shopping blitz...he's geen gone 2 days and i have a whole week ahead of me...and i am not planning anything...(i am actually not planning on 'going' anywhere if i can help it) haha....

Tues i have commitments that have to be taken care of so anything that needs done outside my property limits (rental repairs, misc groceries...which i really need none of but since i am trying out some new recipes i have a few missing ingredients so i will pick them up then....library stop...maybe a thrift store stop if i start getting the 'shakes' lol....(which the last 1/2 doz times have resulted in no purchases)....and a few misc other things to take care of....oh- and meet bridge from this site over her lunchhour...(we are talking about walking)....

then friday we are going (bridge & i) on a 'town-wide' garage sale spree...(it's a very small town...nothing to jump up & down about believe me)....

other than that....that's it....that's all i have planned....the rest of the time i 'plan' to stay home...no spending...no eating out....no driving and wasting gas....just being frugal & green....

and that's the 'odd' part.... what have you guys 'done to me???" DH even asked the same thing...this morning when he called he asked what i had been up to...nothing....and that is the truth.... really? he said...wow.... (now DH had gotten used to the 'new' me when he's around..i guess he thought maybe i would go 'wild' when he left)....nope....what you see is what you are getting...so do i say 'ugh' or 'way to go-just awesome' ???

Isn't being frugal so much more relaxing than being on the run constantly?

Congrats to you. I kind of know what you mean. My hubby works out of town a lot and will be gone two or three nights at a time. Usually DD and I will be thinking of places to go and where we are going to eat. Now, we just stay at home and eat leftovers and sit around reading in bed. We are still having a very nice time together and not wasting money (which is something I am trying to teach her)
