A glimmer of hope
I think some things maybe starting to turn around. My dh works in construction as a HVAC man. Last year his boss the owner of the company ladi off all the employees except dh. It was extremely slow we were hanging on by the finger nails. Well 3 weeks ago he brought back one of the other guys. Now he has a contract for 62 new houses. My ds who used to work there went back to college when he was laid off from there well boss called lat nite and asked when last day of school was and could ds start the next day after. He is also looking to hire another man right away. My dh talks to t=guys in the trades and they all say things are really picking up. construction has been hurting for so long now maybe its a sign things are getting better We are in NJ where housing is ridiculously expensive and people are buying. Has anyone else noticed things may be getting better?

I haven't noticed much here in upstate NY! But that is great about your hubby and the business he works for! Never give up hope! This shows you that there is a light at the end of every tunnel!

I've noticed the want ads here are getting longer too. I check them out every once in a while just for fun. For a while, there were only a few ads in each day. Now there are 20 or 30 each day. So I think things are getting better!
DH used to work in the construction industry too, and I'm so glad he got out last year before things got really bad. Hopefully, the business will start picking up and stay that way!

We're picking up in construction her too. My husband's Union Hall is nearly empty because everyone is working. Hurray! DH is on 10 hours of mandatory overtime right now..I miss him, but the money's nice.
I'm also seeing more people at the stores and restaurants lately so somebody must be spending money on something anyway.

I think that people are getting over the shock of what has been happening (and too much info!!) and are digging in and working things out. Great news about your family!!

My factory that works in automotive parts called back 6 people. That is not a land slide, but to those 6 people I bet it is. Yea, some thing is starting to level out. . . maybe people are just not as scared and starting to breath. Which is very good. . . breathing is good! LOL!
