I think my life-long love of Miracle Whip
is coming to an end. I LOVE the taste of it, but lately it doesn't taste the same to me. They must have "new and improved" it. The last three jars that I have gotten just don't have that tang to it and they leave an after-taste. When I make macaroni or potato salad, it doesn't taste good. I hate this! When I was a kid I loved Miracle Whip sandwiches. Just MW and bread or sometimes with a slice of cheese. My grandma's potato salad recipe will never taste the same with mayo.
MW is one of the very few things that I am brand loyal over. I guess I will start trying off brands to see if I can find one that is close to the old taste.
I don't know why companies have to new and improve something that is already great!

Doh! I just bought two large jars of the light stuff too.

I eat a lot of MW on my bologna and cheese sandwiches, but I've found that some of the in-store generic whipped salad dressing actually has that zip to it. Safeway makes some really good store brand MW.Wife to DH since 10/31/2002!

LOL I switched to the light the last time I bought a jar. It used to taste exactly like the original. I made macaroni salad this morning and it's awful! NO taste to it and there is that after taste.
We don't have Safeway here but I think Kroger has their own brand. I guess it's worth a try!S

Yeah I generally buy the generic MW unless the real stuff is on sale. I got two of the massive jars for $4.39, which in my world is big bucks.
Now I'm tempted to go open one of the jars and see how much it differs from what I usually use.Last edited by MomToTwoBoys; 03-31-2009 at 01:28 PM.
