    Default Update on Andrew

    NO SURGERY!
Yep, you heard it right! The neurosurgeon said he will have to wear his brace for six weeks (he's already worn it for ten days) and then they will xray him and see how things are progressing. If his healing has progressed normally, he will start his physical therapy.

Dr. Westin lectured him about how lucky he was. I HOPE he's learned his lesson and doesn't try anything this stupid in the future. FWIW, he's thinking about making this his Eagle Scout project. We figure that is he can keep one kid from becoming paralyzed, he will have done a good deed and this will have been of service to the community.

It's amazing! He is a very lucky boy! It sounds like a great Eagle Scout project and something that would be very close to his heart now! He definately has a good first-hand lesson to help teach other kids that they aren't as invincible as they think they are!
