hello from Canada
Hello from Canada!

Hello! I came across this forum and thought I'd join and learn how to do this forum thing ( technologically impaired grandma here). I am happily married and my hubby and I have 7 grown kids and 6 grandkids ( 1 in heaven
) between us. We live on a beautiful acreage in northern Bc Canada. Unfortunately the mass lay offs hit our town so we are in the process of losing our rambling old house. We're upset but not devastated because this big place was getting hard to manage ( we just hadn't planned on downsizing to a box under a bridge JK) When I raised up my brood I had to be very frugal and now I'm happily reviving my old skills and learning new ones.
Hubby and I have two cocker spaniels and one kitty . We used to have chickens ( I LOVE chickens) and if we get onto another acreage we'd like to have chickens and rabbits again.
I collect chicken things for my kitchen, red and white enamelware, old tins, vintage dolls and old fashioned teddy bears. I also have an embarrassing large collection of bells and an aspiring collection of Cherished Teddies. I am a confirmed CHRISTMASAHOLIC. I love my expanding Christmas village! I rarely buy anything new, always on the hunt for used and/or sale items. I love garage sales and thrift stores and recently discovered Ebay.
I'd have some success with growing and drying herbs and using them as home remedies. I'm interesting in learning ways of gardening when one has a back injury. I'm fairly into " green" living and recyling and re-using.
Well that's enough about me for now! Time to go have fun exploring the forums!

Howdy and welcome to FV.
I used to have customers in Northern BC and Alberta.
Are you one of the victims of cut backs in Pulp and paper?
I had customers such as Abitibi Consolidated in Mackenzie and Tembec Chetwyn.
Hope things get better. I'm sure they will!
Feel free to ask questions!
