surveys for money?
Several places I have seen people mention getting money for taking surveys--could somebody tell me more about this? I have seen ads on 'puter but thot they were a scam. Since people here seem to have actually been paid, I would like to have more info because I would like more money!!LOL

i currently take surveys for
ip-sos (just got a $5 gift card from them last week)....
mindfield (i'm currently involved in a 3 month study on my purchases of greeting card purchases....when i buy a card i record it on a log they have) at the end of the 3 months i get $25 cash....
opinion outpost
survey spot.... both of these i am racking up 'points' to exchange for gift cards or money.....
i was signed up to greenfield but i was getting 10 survey offers every day and 99% of them i didn't qualify for so i got fed up and cancelled them....
i think there is one or two others but they come automatically and i don't remember their names...i will post when i see them....
the big problem i had in the beginning is i signed up for all kinds of survey sites and found that alot of them were more interested in 'selling' me something and then they sold my name to every tom-dick & harry that came along...my e-mail was crammed full of junkmail.... since i have cancelled everyone but the above i don't get any junk mail anymore....
here's a link that says that these are all legitiment sites....

i have been getting more 'legit' offers from places and i think its coz i have stuck with it (since january) and while maybe not 'qualified' for all surveys i have at least made an effort to take them.... i just finished with a 'coffee survey' where they sent us 2 big cans of coffee to be drank at different times and then evaluated...hey-it was FREE coffee.....

dumb question maybe, but do any of these things have to be reported on taxes? or is it only if it's over a certain amount?

I do Lightspeed, Opinion Outpost, Survey Spot, My Surveys, My 2 Cents, and Global Opinion Panel. I like Lightpeed the best but have good luck with all of them. Most give points to redeem for prizes or cash, but some will just send a check. The thing with surveys is they take a LOT of time! You could spend hours a day for very little return (unless you hit on a big one). And some, like Survey Spot, mostly just get you entries into drawings (the $$ surveys are few and far between).
That said, they are fun and easy. I've gotten free products, money, gift cards to Amazon, etc. You can always cancel out of them if you don't like it. I would recommend using a "throwaway" email just for surveys at first, or be really sure that the company won't sell your email to spammers. All the ones I mentioned don't give out your email. Have Fun!!Last edited by Spudnic; 04-05-2009 at 10:32 PM.
