Some bad news and a funny.....
My dh got paid today and in his check was a letter from their boss. Their company contracts their product out to another plant in our area. That plant is talking about shutting down one part of the plant for 30 days to save money. In dh's letter it said that if the other company does the 30 day shut down they will be asking for people to take voluntary layoffs at dh's company for those 30 days. Dh isn't going to do it because even drawing unemployment they withhold your first week and we just couldn't get by right now.
He said they told them if enough people don't volunteer then they are thinking of cutting everyone's hours for those 30 days. UGH! Just when I get back to work and get a plan laid out to really pay off debt and see some light at the end of the tunnel, something else happens. Dh said when the other plant shuts down an area it just makes the other areas more busy and his plant is usually busier than ever so he's hoping nothing will happen. It's scary though. I am more determined than ever to get stuff paid off this summer and to get my stockpile built WAY up!
And a funny....my dd (16) is going to the prom this year. We've been looking for used dresses. This morning we went into the new thrift shop in our town and they had a really pretty dress in there. I told dd to try it on. She couldn't get it zipped up and I looked and it was a very small size 4(I think it had been altered to be much smaller than a 4). Anyway she got STUCK in the dress LOL. It was a strapless dress with lots of sequins and she was honestly stuck. I had to go into the bathroom with her and we spent 10 minutes pulling and tugging before finally getting it off of her LOL! I told her she has a story to tell her friends now LOL.S

Hopefully all will be good, and no one will get laid off. DH's company did that in March. They needed to lay off 4 guys for a week. Dh figured he wouldn't volunteer, but they ended up not laying anyone off, so something worked itself out. Hopefully you guys have the same luck!
That is too funny about the prom dress! I always think about that when I am trying to zip up something that is a bit small...I always wonder if I'll be able to get it back off!

I hope your hubby is right and if the other plant lays off his plant will be busier. Prayers and hugs.

I know that I'm going to be tested on this - however - IMHO and after many, many years of reacting to things that might happen, I've decided that getting upset about what might be really ruins the reality of what is. So I've develped another approach - use the info as a potential and live my life as it is.
Here's a much smaller example than what you're going through. Two days ago i received a $50 bill in payment of sewing services and I put it in my pocket. When I got home, the money was gone. I was not happy, but couldn't figure out where it could be. When I went to school yesterday, I couldn't find it and was thinking that I hoped whoever did find it could really use. I walked to my desk and the bill was on the floor!!
Please breathe fully to allow oxygen to flow through you body - this truly will help any stress. Make a plan for if the worst happens, then listen to your husband insights about more work being needed and keep on truckin'.
Life is not for wimps - my prayers are coming your way. Take care of yourself too!Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

We got a letter from the big shots in the mail today. They have put a stop to all raises and won't be matching the 401K any longer. The annual raise isn't that much and we don't do the 401K so that doesn't really affect us. Luckily dh is like 3rd in seniority so he won't go anywhere unless they totally shut the plant down. I don't think that will happen because the other plant has to have their product to operate. So I'm keeping the faith that it will all be ok!
