My DH has worked pizza delivery since our kids were young, staying home with them during the day. Unfortunately tonight, as he was delivering to an apartment complex, some guys stuck a gun to his head and made off with $31. He's been talking about finding a full time job this summer, now that our youngest is 13. I hope he starts looking for something else soon. I'm so relieved that he wasn't hurt and so angry that this happened. I can't understand how someone can justify threatening someone's life for a measly amount of cash.
Sorry I'm rambling, I just had to vent.

Michelle, how scary for you both. What did the police say? A gun for $31 - a gun for anything like that. Please take care of yourselves. Sometimes a shock like this takes more time than we think to settle down. Prayers and love.

The police were there very quickly, according to my husband, but although there were at least eight cars patrolling the complex afterward, they didn't find anyone. They took a statement and description from my DH. A couple of years ago they had a problem with a group of guys hitting different apartment complexes in the area and robbing pizza delivery drivers. The police actually went undercover in that instance and caught the perpetrators the first night. One of the cops mentioned that they might end up doing that again. These kids who did this were no more than 18 or 19 years old. My DH said the kid's hands were shaking while he held the gun to my DH's head. What a waste.
Thanks for everyone's kind words and the hugs. They really have helped.

I'm so very relieved to hear that your DH was not hurt in the robbery. I fear though, this is a drastic sign of things to come in this world. I hope your DH finds work somewhere else soon.

That is scary.
If it had happened to me, I would have quit the job right then and there.
I read somewhere online maybe a year ago, about a guy delivering pizzas and he got robbed. He mentioned that people were giving a address of a empty house and then when the pizza was delivered, robbing the driver.
I tried working at a convenience / gas station a few years ago. Lasted about a month. The place was robbed one night, thankfully not on my shift but that put a big fear in me. After waiting almost a month for my first paycheck, I just could not comprehend me staying there. And I had a manager from hell too. I gave notice and beat feet out of that place.
Glad he wasn'thurt. I know in Pa ( don't know if it's the same anywhere else.) As long as you have a gun or pretend to have a gun that's an automatic 5 years on top of anything else you're charged with. The store I worked at was also robbed at gunpoint.......bb gun point not less. Thank heavens the giy didn't have it pumped up far enough. He grabbed the woman that was working and shot her but there wasn't enough force for the bb to do damage. This woman was 60 years old and 4 foot nothing. The robber was over 6 foot. Now what was she going to do to him....kick him in the shin? Things are getting worse everyday just pray that loved ones are safe.

I have heard of that happening here too, but not recently. I can only imagine how shaken it up it must've made your hubby! I think I would have gotten in my car and driven home after that...never to deliever another pizza.
Hopefully, it doesn't ever happen again!

I am so sorry that happened and am happy that your DH is okay. I would have a hard time going back to work after something like that happened. I hope that the cops are able to find the thugs that did it.

Im just grateful he wasn't hurt. Maybe if the news reported just How much was taken it would discourage others because they would realize that 30 bucks isn't a big enough payoff.

Wow. It's such a shame that they don't realize that are just trying to make a living. Glad to hear he's ok and home safe.
