Bummer.......
Hubby and I found the perfect house, in the perfect location, with every single item on our wish list. It was solidly built, squeaky clean, and came with more extras than we ever dreamed of. And the price was about $30,000 LOWER than what we were prepared to pay.
The bummer? It sold between the time we viewed it and before we could write up our offer. Guess it wasn't meant to be. We had been praying that God would guide us to the place that we were meant to be. We hadn't been praying for God to protect us from where we should not be. Perhaps God was protecting us, without us even asking.
Anyway, back to looking.......Spiritual:
"You are fearfully and wonderfully made." Please... respect life.
Financial:
Debt free, hoping to stay that way!

4. Continue to be looking for how God wants to use me this year.

That is a bummer
However, I'd take it as a sign that it wasn't the house for you. Keep looking and you'll find one that really is the perfect house for you.

Awww, that's too bad! You are right though...it must not have meant to be. Something will come along that you want even more and will feel more like home.

Having just been through such ups n downs in finding a new home, I SO understand!! *hugs* Tis challenging to stay upbeat, but you can do it.
The home we did end up with(after lots of ups n downs n even two failed deals) is perfect...proof that we were being guided along a path...
So, hang in there!!

Oh, I'm sorry! I agree, there must be a reason you're not supposed to live there, and the right house will come along. This exact same thing just happened to my sister, so we're trying not to be too bummed and wait for the "even better" that God has in store. Hang in there!

Edited to add: Just thought of something! Keep an eye on the house still. Sometimes if it is a short sale (or even if not) things change. One of the houses my sis was very interested in, the people who put an offer in just before they did, are looking like they are going to back out. They don't have time to wait for the short sale to go through.Last edited by frugalfriend; 04-17-2009 at 10:16 AM. Reason: add info.

I absolutely believe that house was not meant for you. We put our house up for sale quite a few years ago and it didin't sell. When we put it up the 2nd time it sold and we got a really great house in a really great neighborhood. When it's meant to be; it will happen.

Sorry, but you know theres a reason. That happened to us with our first house before we saw the second. I hated the second but DH apparently made some credit errors (the tight credit 80's) so I settled. As I trimmed back the trees, pulled up 8 layers of tile,2 sub floors and the like I began to meet the neighbors. As time passed this second house grew on me. The soil was fertile and there was a great wild pear in the back. The resale value held better. It wasn't on a corner and was quieter for sleeping babies. The credit union pres. happened to live across the street and I always got loans to fix up. In time things will be shown to you. Patience is the hardest virtue. Good luck with your quest.

That stinks but as you said, it just wasn't meant to be. I too believe God has something in store for you that will be even better!
I hope you and DH are doing well. We are finally settling in. The sale of the house still hasn't gone thru but this place is starting to feel more like home everyday. Thank you again for your help and support.

fohHISglory - mahalo for sharing this - as I was reading all the posts, I had this feeling that nto only were you posting for your situation but also for all of us who read the messages - a reminder of who is in charge - and how more peaceful our lives are if we let HIM be!
This is a great way for me to start this weekend!!
Cannot wait to see what house you get!!

You could still put an offer in, the other one might fall through.
