Its been a very bad
weekend. I have had very little sleep both of my grandgirls are very sick. Both the mom and I have been taking care of them. They are not drinking so I told her to give them icee popcicles. Which is just frozen flavored water. Trying to get it through moms head liquid is liquid. Shes so worried about being fair to the oldest boy who is eight. Hes not sick. I keep telling her. Thats not important just get the liquid in the little ones. It frustrates me in so many ways. Of course I'll have to make her call the Dr at 8am to get them in.... I don't want them in the hospital because they are dehydrated. When there are ways you can get the liquid in them. Just takes a little common sense. I'm tired and I know its going to be another very long night. Hey guys think good throught for the little ones. The youngest is 21 months and was a premmie and the other one is three and was hospitlized in Feb for RSV.
FernYes I'm out of my mind. It's a dark and scary place in there.

Hope they are feeling better soon! Of course they need any liquid you can get into them. Heck, I would've given the 8 yr old a couple if being fair was the issue. While not the most nutritious, it certainly would not have hurt him!

Keep at what you know is the right thing to do. Maybe show her helpful articles that you just "found" on the internet. Remember ,everything seems overwhelming when your exhausted. Pray for her to find common sense or at least for her to be pushed in the right direction as a mom. Best wishes for healing for the little ones.

I hope they are feeling better today! Popcicles are great as long as they don't have diarrhea. I've heard that the sugar can cause it to get worse and cause them to dehydrate faster.
Maybe try some pedialyte too. My kids love that stuff when they are sick!

My kids would never take pedialyte besides being expensive. The doctor told me try Gatorade- works great.

My grandaughter had RSV at Christmas time and she was only 5 months old. She sounded awful - I felt so bad for that little baby. She didn't have to be hospitalized because she was still nursing okay. I have four kids and I had never heard of RSV before, now it seems I hear it alot.
Hope they're okay, just keep giving them liquids. Do you have a vaporizer running?

Ferny, you are smart to see about having them go to the doctor's, if they haven't taken much all weekend. You are right, those little ones can dehydrate so fast. Hope you and mom get a rest soon.

HUgs to you. I hate when my kids are sick, but its even worse when they are so young. I hope they saw the DR today. I have given my kids popsicles too. I made some with gatorade and lemonade and the kids loved them. Hang in there.
