    Default Walmart & internet cupons

Today at the local WM super store, I was told that they would not accept cupons I had printed from the internet and waved a bunch of paperwork at me saying it was a new policy. Being old and not much caring what people think anymore , I had a red-headed fit(really quite a mild form of the condition) and suddenly, and without warning, they could accept them. Anybody hear anything about this new "policy". Stinks and sounds just like something they would do.

I've not tried using internet coupons at Walmart but I was recently behind someone who tried and she was told they didn't take them!

None of the stores here take them. Too easy to fake. There was a free small block of velveeta cheese one going around and a local store lost big bucks on it. It is still posted at the register. I find even if stores do take them they wont take more than one a person.

The Walmarts by me take them. So do Target, Safeway, Raley's and Walgreens. The only store I know for sure won't take them is Winco.

I am in central Alabama and none of the WM stores in my area take them. Heck, they give everyone a hard enough time taking the regular kind as it is.

If the managers give u a problem tell them they need to read the walmart policy book or contact corporate office.

    Wal-Mart Coupon Policy

Wal-Mart accepts the following types of coupons (see guidelines below):

    Manufacturer coupons (Cents Off)
Free merchandise (or manufacturer's Buy-One-Get-One-Free) coupons
    Store coupons
    Pharmacy (Advertising and Promotional) coupons
    Internet coupons
    Soft drink container caps
The following are guidelines and limits:

Wal-Mart only accepts coupons for merchandise we sell and only when presented at the time of purchase.
Coupons should have an expiration date and be presented within the valid dates. Wal-Mart will not accept expired coupons.
Internet coupons should be legible and say "Manufacturer Coupon." There should be a valid remit address for the manufacturer and a scannable bar code.
Only one coupon per item is permitted.
Use of 40 or more coupons per transaction will require approval by Customer Service Manager.

Just curious -- When you say a hard time, what do you mean? I mean, what do the cashiers say when you try to use a coupon? I am sure I have used coupons in Walmart without a problem.

I haven't heard of it either but quess I will find out on the 3rd when I go shopping. I know the manager here and will ask to talk to him if they don't take them and ask why there isn't something posted stating that... I will let you know what happens...

I've had no problems using any type of coupon in my area (NC) and I just did a major shopping trip with coupons last week.

    Yes.
I've been told at more than one Wal-mart store that they are really cracking down on printed online coupons because of so much fraud going on.

If your name is printed on the coupon I've not had any problems, but be forewarned that more and more Wal-marts are refusing to accept them.

NONE of the grocery stores, drugstores, restaurants or discount department stores in my area will take coupons that are printed off the internet unless it is a coupon that their own email club emailed to you (so they can verify what the offer is supposed to be). There was a huge problem with people modifying the coupons on their computers and the printing them up and cheating the stores so they won't take them anymore. They will take the save.ca coupons however (where you pick the coupons, the company prints and mails them to you).

But coupons aren't nearly as big in Ontario as they are in the US and, to a lesser degree, Western Canada.

i was told by my walmart store that they wouldn't take them so i put in a call to the home office. next thing i know, im getting a call from my walmart apologizing and to bring my coupons in and they would gladly except them. so far the only store ive found that wont take them is our local dollar general.

Our Walmart does not take them either, I am in Canada, and their coupon policy at our walmart is going to the dogs so to speak. The are finding more and more ways to say they cannot take them because....
