It's official... I'm a moron
I lost $60 in grocery gc! I have looked everywhere. There's only one place left to look, in dh car. I used it when I shopped. I've been complacent just putting them in a purse pocket, and then the purse tips and things fall out. Time to move to anew purse with zipper pockets.
I hope I find it.
And to top it off, the cell company charged activation fees, when the outlet told me they'd be waived. The cell company said only 2 will be waived. I'm a little po'd! I'm going to call today and see what's up with that. it could be it doesn't happen until after 30 days that they credit it. But that's an extra $140! Not a good day. A little perturbed. At myself and the store.

mommy4ever don't feel bad.... I've done it to the tune of 300. I figure I dropped it in the store so someone had a good day when they found it.
I hope you do find it in your DH's car.
FernYes I'm out of my mind. It's a dark and scary place in there.

I'm sorry, I can't tell you how many times I've lost money or gift cards. It usually turns up when you stop looking for it. Hopefully it's in the car.

Could it be in a coat or jacket or pant pocket? Check everywhere. Hopefully they turn up soon. ((HUGS!))

If it makes you feel any better, I lost a Starbuck's card with over $200 on it. Luckily, a: no one used it in the several months it took me to realize it was gone, and b: I had registered it, so I was able to get it replaced. Doesn't change the fact that I lost it, though.

If you can't find it see if there's a way the store will deactivate it and give you a new one. If they know what credit card it was bought on they maybe able to look it up in their system. You never know!

I don't lose checks, cash or gift cards as I always put them in the same place everytime. I had(have) a Mama who was always locking us out of the house, car, loosing her purse, wallet, money etc and I now am compulsive about not doing any of that stuff.
Now, what in the HECK did I do with my eyeglass prescription?????
I still can't believe I lost it!?!

Lucky I can go get another copy from the dr but still it makes me insane--$100 just poofed.
Hope you find it!The math never lies, budget in INK!

I did that but just found it yesterday (lost it in January!)
Regarding other losses, last weekend I left a pair of jeans with change from a $20 in their pocket in a hotel! I've NEVER left anything in a hotel before. I think I was just TOOOO tired when I was leaving. I don't know whether I'm more upset about the money or the jeans, or just about having done something like that at all!

Don't feel bad. Everyone does it in some way. I'm glad I was never locked in a room w/ all the cash and things i've lost. I'd sufficate or drown; not sure which.
Here you go: When I was 17 I had my motor running w/ my purse in the car. I was making a bank deposit after work. The door slammed shut because i was on a hill and on the other door the hinge was sprung so the door wouldn't open. I ran next door to use the phone at the Arabic party store where no spoke English. He didn't want to let me use the phone but I was so insistant he finally gave in. I called my folks but they had just left for a week up North and of course this was before cell phones. I called my boyfriend but he was at the store talking to me and had just left a half hour before to go 20 miles home. All this time my car is running but not to worry i had a full tank of gas. I had a muscle car w/ tiny triangle windows in the back. I had just replced one w/ plexiglass (pain stakingly hand sawing it to shape). This all was taking place on a busy road. So I sighed,it was plain what i had to do. I pulled and pulled until I cracked the plexi window out. I squiggled in the window w/ my hindend splayed out to traffic until I got in and drove home. I swore I wouldn't tell anyone but I had tore my hand up a little. I went home and bandaged my hand. My boyfriend comes over the next day, takes one look at me and says "Locked your keys in the car again?". Yep I say. He just gets a goofy smile and say "Got anymore plexiglass?".
Feel Anyless dumb yet?

{{Hugs}} So sorry this happened. Sometimes you don't know whether to be angry or cry. I agree, we've all been there. One time DH gave me a $50 bill to pay on something. I know I had it in my hand, and I know I went in the basement to throw wood in the woodburner (our primary heat source), and somewhere in between it disappeared. I searched high and low and never found it. I am convinced to this day the $50 went straight into the woodburner with the wood I threw on. Talk about money burning a hole in your pocket (or in my case, hand).
