THUD--my neighbors are AWESOME!
Our neighbor came over Monday night. He's cop and as soon as he came in, he said, "Is Andrew (DS#1) around? I have a proposition for you". I thought, "Oh, NO. Glen has found out Andrew did something bad."
Well, nothing could be further from the truth! They have a '88 Grand Marquis of his parents they have been trying to sell without ANY luck. They decided to GIVE it to our DSs! We had to pay $60.00 for the tags, but that's IT. It looks a little rough (paint is peeling in places and it has a couple of minor dings), but it runs like a top and has nearly new tires. The AC doesn't work right now, but who cares?
They said we have great kids and they wanted to do something nice for them! I was in total SHOCK. We told them tonight and they are sooo excited. DS#2 said, "I don't care about the paint; I want a decent sound system". Spoken like a true teen! He is also a gear head like his mom and wanted to see what was UNDER the hood before he saw the interior of the car. FWIW, it has a 302 V8. It will SUCK gas, which is actually GOOD because they won't be able to get very far with the little bit of $ they will have to put into it.
The boys are "paying" for the car by each mowing Glen and Crystal's lawn two times a piece. Andrew obviously can't mow until he's out of his neck brace, but Robby can start with his right away.

ISn't it wonderful to have others tell you how great your kids are! Sometimes we just miss it in the day to day loving of them.
Its also nice to hear that their are still true acts of random kindness happening out there.

What a wonderful surprise out of nowhere. Those are the best kind. With the way things are in this world, it is truly good to see that there are people out there who bless others. God blesses those who blesses others.

Wow, how nice of them to do that, its something they will never forget, and someday, they will pay it forward for someone else!
You must be so proud of them.Pine trees, with their needles pointing up to heaven, represent everlasting light and life.

Yes, they will be paying their own insurance. That is one of our rules in order for them to be able to drive.
As for "like new"...well, it's not, but for the price. who the heck cares??
