Its always something
Well we finally get dd back into physical therapy and the state says we dont qualify for medical any more so we have to come up with all the copays and the $350 deductable. She goes once a week and the appts. cost between 80 and 160 dollars each. I am thinking of going to the shriners and seeing if they can help us with any of her care. She has Fibromyalgia/ ampflied pain syndrom of childhood.
With all the medical bills and medications its so hard to beable to keep up with her care and mine. Would you try and see if they could help you or try and find other ways to come up with the money? Do you think they will help her?

I don't think you have anything to lose by asking them. And I would research any other groups that help children. I'll keep you in my prayers.

There is definitely no harm in asking! Any help you can get...even if it is for a few sessions will help you and your family. I say go for it and research to see if there are any other organizations that can help! Sorry to hear this has happened.

Hugs to you! Are there any childrens hospitals in your area? They might have some info on groups out there that can help. In my town the Kiwanis, Elks, and other civic groups will help out children that need medical services.

Even if they can't help, they may know of other programs that could. I would also trying to file for a fair trial hearing I think it's called (here at least) But there should be a way for you to dispute your denial - I'm not sure how you'd go about finding an advocate in your area - but a good start could be to check with local clinics, or a child advocacy agency in your area. They should at least be able to point you in the right direction.

In MI our program was once called "Crippled Children's Fund", but now it is called "Children with Special Needs Fund" and is operated through Children's Health Services through our local health department. Perhaps your state has a similar program. It covers medical needs for children under age 21. We have used our states program for 2 of our children over the years and it is a really great program.

please forgive me for being nosy - just trying to help....Does your daughter's condition qualify her for SSI? If it does, she would also automatically qualify for Medicaid coverage.Hugs for your family -somehow, some way, things will fall into place eventually.
