Have been sick...

I came down with something on Saturday evening--sore throat, body aches, runny nose and nasal congestion, cough, no appetite--just generally feeling YUCK. Sunday morning, DH and I go to a med clinic a couple of miles away which was doing a booming business. We live just about 5-10 miles away from the school/area here which has those who have come down with the swine flu. Seems like many are nervous that they might have the same.

I'm a home health nurse and, since I do cover that area, I have to admit --the thought crossed my mind. The doctor didn't run any tests, but said he thought I had a cold and told me to take off from work today. I'm feeling much better now. My throat hasn't been hurting too much today and I haven't been as congested. Now my DD is starting to feel nasty so I hope she's not catching whatever I had.

I thought it was interesting how many people were at the clinic on Sunday morning, although (thank goodness) there doesn't seem to be a big panic over everything. The doctor said it's basically has the same symptoms as any flu, but the people here in the U.S. seem to be getting a milder version.

I hope you are all feeling better soon! My dd has been sick for more than a week. I sent her to the school clinic yesterday and they said it just a bad allergy attack. They prescribed her a nasal spray to dry up the drainage so hopefully she's better soon!

my husband feels this way too. I just think a cold is going around right now along with everything else

We have been dealing with some kind of bug at our home as well. I've had whatever it is since Easter. My DD has had it for about a week. She did have a fever one night that got to 101. My DS who is a diabetic had it first his temp got to 104 before he finally felt better the next morning.

The worst problem is the fatigue and coughing. I stayed home for work today (I work at a school as a academic tutor). I really didn't want to pass it on to the kiddos.

I hope you get better soon and that this swine flu stays well away from you and your family.

Glad to see you are feeling better. My dd had the same thing last week and missed 4 days of school except she was HUNGRY lol!

The runny nose caused her to get her seasonal nose bleeds(have for years so I know what to do) and the goop in her chest was making her throw up(only 2 times thank goodness) I called the school and told them she was a bodily fluids NIGHTMARE and that they did NOT want her there!

we got it sunday. dd is better. my tummy is better..now i think i have a sinus infection. going to dr thursday AM.

sunday dd and i were in bed/bthrm from 2pm on. both asleep by 7pm til 7am monday. she went to school and was fine. i still felt yucky. slept alot monday during day. still not feeling too swift!

Glad you are feeling better today! It sounds like lots of yucky stuff is going around. I hope your DD gets better quickly, too.

Thanks, everyone and I hope everyone's sick loved ones get better soon, also. This is just that time of the year when all those nasty bugs seem to get around the easiest.
