Know what I love about this time of year?.....
1. Stepping outside and smelling lilacs on the breeze. While I am NOT happy with the upper 80's this time of year I am so happy that my lilac tree is actually blooming this year! It usually gets buds in it, then we get a big freeze and they die. I think this might be the first time in the 14 years we've lived here that it's actually bloomed. It looks beautiful and smells MMMMMMMMM so good! This is my lavendar one. My dark purple one has buds and should be blooming in another day or two and my white one is always later.
2. The smell of suntan oil! I always lay out in the sun during the first really warm spell we get. Of course that's usually mid May, not April LOL. I know it's bad for you but I get so depressed in the winter and I don't get much of a chance to be out during the summer since I work.
3. FLIP FLOPS! UH HUH, YEP! I am a flip flop gal (or barefoot if I am at home). LOVE LOVE LOVE this weather so my footsies can breathe!
4. Flowers everywhere! My tulips and daffadils are blooming. My lilies and iris are up and my dark purple iris has buds already!
5. The days are longer! Ds is occupied outside until dark and happy. Even though I have to work weekends I am on day shift right now and when I get home there is still about 5 hours of daylight left to enjoy!
What about you, what do you love about Spring?Last edited by WV_mom_of2; 04-28-2009 at 12:35 PM.

I had spring, but it decided to come back later, I guess. I love spring, but with all the snow & rain lately, well I'm not a happy camper. Maybe next week it will return.
Pine trees, with their needles pointing up to heaven, represent everlasting light and life.

I love watching the tree and flowers bloom. Also being able to walk around without freezing. Being able to open the windows. Watching and listening to the birds. Deciding what types of flowers to have.

That first serious day-long airing out of the house. Getting rid of all that stored up winter funk!

Longer days
Waking to the mourning doves cooing out my open bedroom window - the crows on the other hand are another story!
Hanging out the wash
Seeing how my perennials weathered over the winter (and where they have chosen to reseed!)
Working in the garden
Hanging my oranges and waiting for the Orioles to pass through!
