Since you have been back on it such a short while, change meds now before you have to go through the whole wean off/back on something else routine. I say def. find a new doctor but I realize that when it comes to these sorts of meds, time is of the essence so I guess, call around and do what you can with regard to a new MD but in the mean time you should def. get off the Depakote. Pancreatitis is some nasty stuff and you don't want to add any more injury than you already have. So sorry you are going through this and good luck with getting everything straightened out.

Do what ever you can to get off that medicine and whack your doc in the noggin for not knowing the risks in your case!!!! Geeeeezzzzz!!!!
I'm with jas on this one. The internet will help you greatly, if you know what to put in for the search. Find all of the information you can on your meds and condition. When I start hearing BS, I start asking questions. My DH gets upset with me. I'm sure the docs do, too. DH asks my opinion on drugs they want him to take (diabetic, heart bypass, thyroid). When I tell him what I find and HE makes HIS decision to not to take the drug, the docs get upset. The side effects of the drug are always worse than the condition he has. He always gets a side effect. Never be afraid to ask questions. If you don't get answers, use the internet to educate yourself. You know yourself better than anyone else! Take care and good luck.

I will pray for your speedy recovery. If you do go back in the hospital, make sure they check your lipid levels, women with hyperlipidemia are very prone to pancreatitis.
