    Unhappy I am SO tired!

I just feel exhausted today. It was a hectic weekend and I think it's caught up to me. I ain't as young as I used to be LOL.

I worked 8-4 on Friday. I had to leave at one point to pick up ds from school because a child in his PE class had intentionally stomped on his foot and it was swollen and hurting. After work I rushed home to do dd's nails for the prom, get dinner, load the dishwasher and steam the wrinkles out of her prom gown.

Saturday I worked 8-4 again. Then it was rush home, get dinner, eat. I had to do dd's makeup for the prom and help her get dressed. We had to leave by 6:15 to be there at 7. Prom starts at 8pm but everyone gathers in front of the school at 7 to mingle, see everyone and take pics. We got there about 6:50 and were there about an hour. It's such a nice event. Parents, grandparents, siblings, etc. show up and they let you walk through the gym to see the decorations, etc. You get to see all the kids dressed up too. (you can see my dd's pics http://www.frugalvillage.com/forums/...hp?albumid=395)

We had to go back to pick her up at 11(she went alone so no nice young man to bring her home) and didn't get home until midnight because it was pouring the rain and we had to drive slow. I got to sleep around 1am, then dh came to bed and woke me up. I didn't fall back asleep until after 2, then woke up at 5:30. Had to be at work at 8am again. I was off yesterday but so tired I can barely think. I slept better last night but I'm still exhausted! I start full time at work on the 14th so I HAVE to get this house in shape before then!

How do you get yourself moving when you know you have to get things done but are just too tired to care??

Sorry, this won't help, but I usually take a nap. Sometimes, I put in a load of laundry to wash before my nap. So, something is getting done while napping. I mean if you get to run down, it will only cause more stress or it works that way for me. As for the chores, I'd try to do the one thing that needs doing the most or would make the biggest dent. Take it one chore at the time as not to get overwhelmed. Usually getting the kitchen clean or the laundry done really helps me feel better about things since I never get very far down my list of things to do. I'm sure someone else will be along soon w/some great advise. Might as well take a nap while you wait.

I only do the things around the house that are absolutely necessary. For instance...dusting can wait....it isn't going anywhere. As long as the basics are done that is all I care about and I hit the bed early for a couple of nights in a row. Whatever you do, take care of yourself.

    Unhappy i am so tired

    hello everyone

i am anney 20 years old from us.

Try to go to sleep. Then you will stay up all night. Caffeine will only make you crash. Take in a lot of carbohydrates and maybe try some of that 5-hour energy stuff.
If you don't want to risk that, take an extended nap. Make sure you set your alarm. If you have multiple alarm clocks, set a couple of them.

LOL...if you have nothing important to do what is the problem with going to bed now? How late do you sleep on weekends. Wow. I am usually up by 10 at the latest and that feels like sleeping late to me.

A daughter who's old enough to go to the prom, is old enough to help around the house! My suggestion: get the family involved.

Sorry, I have been living in that state for over 2 months - ever since Maggie's diagnosis. Even when we are at home I do not sleep well. Hospital "beds" are horrible and we are gearing up for another inpatient chemo session!

Dh and the kids do help around the house when they can. Problem is dh works 12 hour rotating shifts and is gone 14 1/2 hours a day on working days. Dd goes to high school and works an after school job. Both of them, along with ds, do help when they are home. It's not like they are sitting around doing nothing LOL.

Naps only make me sleep less at night. I never sleep in, it's just not me. If I sleep until 8am the kids come to see if I am ok LOL. I am usually up by 6:30am. Right now I am working every Friday, Saturday and Sunday and have to be there by 8am.

I did fall asleep while watching tv yesterday about 2 and slept until 4pm. BUT I also forced myself to get up and get some thing done around the house after I posted too.

I agree with Debbie, only the basics when I am exhausted.

Do one or two small chores at night, after dinner. Cleaning up after dinner can count as one on the busiest nights! And go to sleep early a few nights in a row.

Your daughter's pictures are beautiful. What a great dress! And what a pretty girl!

Maybe I am the oddball here, but caffeine never makes me crash! When I need to be super productive, I drink a low carb monster energy drink and get to work!! The longer I sit down, the more tired I become!
