Default we got our EMS bill

the ambulance bill for when 16 yr old was accient. $150. On his own:
he's said I know its my fault and Ill pay dad back. U told me not to go up that night and leave and I did--so I'Ll pay him back"

we nevr did tell him we expected him to pay it back we were just glad he never got major hurt or dead. But I think hubby will get him to pay it back slowly.Another lesson i think he's learning.

IMHO that is a cheap ambulance ride, my husband had to be taken by ambulance a few years back and we were literally 3 blocks from the hospital...the bill.....$547.00 for three blocks!!

Back when DS10 severed part of his finger off, the ambulance ride from the Children's Hospital to Foothills Hospital was about $337. Luckily, we got Alberta Blue Cross to foot the bill.

Cost me $800.00 to ride 5 miles without lights or sirene to the hospital. But I was having a heart attack and was so happy to hear them coming all lite up like Christmas. We had no insurance and worked out a payment plan its a county service. Paid $50.00 a month til it was paid off no intrest.

I took an ambulance ride a couple of weeks ago and just got the bill ~ $250. I thought it was going to be more actually. Insurance will pay it eventually.

That is an incredible bill. When they transfered my child from the west side hospital to the main downtown branch, it was $800.

That's wonderful that your son is learning good lessons so early! You must be proud of him! I'm glad the bill wasn't too dreadfully high...it's about $300 here...

Good for your son and the lesson he's learned. I guess some of what we teach them does sink in occasionally.

$150 isn't bad at all! When my neighbor was taken, it was over $600!

That is so great that he is feeling responsible and wants to pay it back. Good lesson for him!

But in Canada and in our province are goverment pays for our health care through our taxes we pay. plus everyone gets dinged on their phone bill automatically every month 911 . Its only a few cents but it goes towrds using the service which helps all. And recently seniors are paid for in ambulance. which i think is awesome and way overdue.
thanks evreyone for the replies .
oh by the way he wasnt on the stretcher - he was sitting in the front and the 2 girls didnt evn go in the ambulance but were looked at and they wll get the bill too. but the 2 guys will get a bigger bill because they used stretcher and were hurt.
