Default I just had to tell everyone!!!

I posted about this on the money challenges but the challenge has (partly) finished.
I posted that I wanted to save up outside of the normal budget to finance a trip to NY for DH, myself and our daughter.

Well I got the BIGGEST surprise on Sat.
DH knew that I had looked up on internet a lot of the options to figure out how much the trip to NY would cost and he knew that I was doing my best to save as much as possible for the trip.

So, all evening on Friday he was on the laptop but he didn't tell me what he was doing. He had been going over the finances and on Saturday evening we sat down and he said ...
    NEW YORK - BOOK IT!!!!

He had looked if we could take the trip and by tweaking the finances a bit we are going to be able to take the trip. (Plus our son is working a LOT and should be almost up to date on his debt with us by that time. Plus he has the possibility of a full time job very soon (fingers crossed) - so things are looking up.

So on Aug. 18th the three of us are going to NEW YORK!!!!!
We will be staying there till the 23rd and then we'll sail home on the Queen Mary (so no jet lag).

I will of course still be trying to save as much as possible so that we can have a blast when we are there.

    CAN YOU TELL I'M EXCITED????

    Good for you

Always nice to have a goal, to work your way to it, and then get to enjoy it.

Both DH and I have been to New York a good few times and we absolutely LOVE it.
I always get so much energy from this city.
Our daughter has always been desperate to go too after hearing all of our stories, so she is almost beside herself and can hardly wait.
She is 18 and a great age to have fun in NY.
We're already making plans about where we are going to go and what to see.
On her LONG list are (among many other things) Bloomingdales, Macy's, Old Navy, Ground Zero, Wall Street, Museum of Natural History, any HUGE book store, central park, walk along part of 5th Avenue, Empire State Building, Times Square, Rockefeller Center - think we'll need about 1 or 2 months to see everything she wants. LOL!!

Hope you have a great time! I love going to NYC, there is always something free going on. Check to see if there are any free concerts in the park when you are there.
