I can't do this.....
keep looking and offering and being rejected house after house!!! My "heart" can't take anymore!!!! Boy I was rock solid the first 8 offers I am falling apart now!!! I made offers 11 and 12 today and found out offer 10 was given to another buyer. This is 2 of 12 I have been 2nd in line and nopers!! I wish I knew the difference between my offers and thier offers for the bank to even have to look again and again to decide. I just don't know anymore!!!!

Are you working with a realtor? Can you find out from your realtor why they think that your offers are being rejected and why they are accepting the other ones? The right home for you is bound to be out there. Hang in there.

Remain calm, all is well! Seriously, I thought I was going to be bald with a facial tic by the time we found ours.

I don't think that your offer should be rejected. You should clame for it.

I agree with Michelle - talk to your realtor. He/she can find out a lot - how much the house sold for, how many offers there were, offers/counteroffers, etc.
We lost a house because our preapproval letter said we were approved for 100% financing. The "other" offer had a downpayment. We were approved for 100% financing, BUT we planned all along to make a decent downpayment. The people that got the house I have been foreclosed on and the house is sitting vacant. The neighborhood is FULL of foreclosures and looks really bad.
FYI - The other house we lost out on - FLOODED twice last month.
Things work out the way they do for a reason. Keep your chin up. Your realtor can tell you a lot - you are paying him/her to work for you.Mary

If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

Funny you say that I did ask her and here is her response:
You are not doing ANYTHING wrong. You can call it "luck". You are competing with
like 20 other buyers on each property. Banks have a tendency to lean on strong
cash offers or conventional (20% down). There is no control on our end when this
happens. We are expecting more listings to come out, we just don't know when. It
is like this with every single buyer. You just have to be patient and continue
looking.
As you can see, there were only 3 listings that came out within 3 days. Now
imagine all the buyers that feel the same way you do and are looking at the same
listings! It is extremely frustrating to all of us. We'll get there though.
I am confident we will but I'll tell ya each rejection gets a lil harder rather than a lil easier. Hangin tough though...tryin anyway!!

I hear loud and clear!! We cannot get one either. We ARE strong buyers. we are putting 50 % down and have the cash ready to close......but we still can't get one. the market is so crazy!!
(ps, we head over to Roseville, near Sacramento tomorrow to put offers on 2 more)

It's the California market. I'm jumping in as well. It's not a true buyers market like people think because house prices are down here and so is inventories. Also, short sales are taking forever because some banks are dragging their feet.
