Sunday will be my 1st day back to church
Im so nervous, when i was married the 1st time around,we went to church , every Wed,Sun and Sun night, all functions ect. My 24 and 20 year olds were raised in the church from day 1.
But i have been divorced since 99 and remarried in 04 ,so its been 10 years. I feel like im in the stage of my life that i really need God and Christain friends. My husband wont be going right now, He was raised Jeovah witness untill he was 18 and on his own and he left the church. His father abused him and his sibblings and mom for all those years till his mother divorced when he was 18. So he has alot mixed emotions about church in general.Thats ok. I need this for my self. Maybe by me setting the example, he will see that. Im taking my daughters (step) they call me mom, 17 and 13 and my oldest grandson he is 5 .So please keep me in your prayers. I have prayed and prayed and this is the direction he is leading me..

Saying a prayer for you, looks like he's leading you in the right direction.

Good luck, honey. I'm in a similar situation and it's hard to get reconnected in a church I know.

About 10 years ago I was in a similar situation in as far as going back to church. My husband hadn't attended for many years (like 20+ yrs). I went on my own for about 3 months and he started going with me. We've been going together ever since. We have been blessed beyond my wildest dreams with some material things such as a nice home, $ in the bank, etc. But the blessings in my heart far out weigh the material things. We have made great friends at church, there's a contentment within myself that I've never had before. When you go, try to keep your heart open and his blessings will pour out to you. Lots of hugs and I'll say a prayer for you.

I am sooo happy for you and your decision. God welcomes us whereever we are and especially when we visit Him in His home. We are all rejoicing for you and with you!!

That is great to hear that you are going back to church. You have to go for you not anyone else. Like you said when your dh sees positive changes is you maybe he will want to attend with you. Don't nag him, that is not how to get him there. Just be a quite example. As you know he will also have preconcieved ideas that are not true about the Christian Church comming from his childhood background.
Let us know how is goes for you tomorrow!Married 22 years to Mark

You can veiw this as a new exciting stage in your life. It's so important to have support and the right church could be just what you need. I am going to a new church this Sunday.I am so excited too. I have missed church. I have not been in 2 years also. We stopped going shortly after my husbands accident. We felt trapped by people who veiwed us as the couple who survived my husbands accident. No one meant any harm just good but it was trapping us in that place. We could not get on w/ our lives. If this church is not "it" please try another one. This will be our 2nd try to find a good fit.

When you sincerely desire to know Him more, follow Him more closely, and learn more about Him, the Lord will always graciously grant your desire. I don't blame you a bit for being nervous, but your desire is leading toward more peace in your soul. Let us know how it goes, and know that we are all praying for you!
