    Default Son and yard sale...

My son has been bugging me to have a yard sale...but, I'm not really the have a yard sale kind of person. I noticed the neighbor's down the road were having a sale and told him to set his stuff up to take advantage of the traffic the neighbor's sale would generate.

So, today he set up his stuff and he's made $16 so far and he's geeked! I love it when he's in a decent mood, makes my whole day go so much smoother.

Hope he does good. You can make some extra bucks with a yard sale. I did excellent at my last one and sold over $400.00 and then sold the ac we had for $100.00 a couple of weeks later. I had already listed some of the nicer items on our sales network, Ebay, and a friend bought some things so I ended up total selling well over $1000.00 just from cleaning out non needed items around the house. Kiddos are going to take a few leftover things to the local flea market in June.

Well he made a grand total of $40.75...which isn't bad considering he had mainly 25 cent & 50 cent prices! He was happy, which in turn makes me happy.

Smart thinking mombotto - you've created an entraprenneur!!

Excellent!! Yes you have started an entrapeneur on his journey. I did the same with my son when he was younger and he loved making his own bucks. He's now 21, will be a college senior this fall and on the side he buys video game systems, games and more from thrifts, yard sales etc. cleans them up and then resales them for extra college money along with buying older toys and resaling them on Ebay and local sales. In college he's going into Business Administration and Accounting.

We're having a moving yard sale on 2 June. I told my 7.5 y.o. son that what I allow him to sell from his stuff he can keep the proceeds. I told him he can use that money to spend on the vacation we're going on and save what he doesn't spend.

I think it's great that your son made a bit of money on a weekend and took the initiative.
