Unhappy Up with my grandson got a fever 104

He is running a temp of 104.2 rectal ,icky nose which is not clear or white, so it sound like a infection starting, Gave tylenol. brought it down to 100.4 .Kinda playful still. It does worry me with the swine flu since its in the 3 counties surrounding us... So when hubby gets up he is taking the boys home and mom will call the doctor. Im going to bed then.

I'll keep the poor little guy in my prayers.

I hope he is doing alright this morning. I can never sleep when my kids are sick.

Just try to get his fever down, I have a son who is prone to high fevers (103 and above) and we are always warned about the dangers of high fevers. On the plus side, the doctor always reminds me that a high fever doesn't necessarily mean it is any worse than a low fever!

Hopefully it is just something minor that his body is fighting off!

Prayers being sent for your little guy. Hight fevers always made me nervous with my boys and my grandchildren too. Once a Mom always a Mom even if it is grandchildren. You just have to love the little buggers with all of your heart. Let us know how things go and be sure to get some rest today.

Awww I hope he is feeling better! How scary! When my kids get high fevers like that...I bring them to the doctor...If it stays high and the doctor is closed we go to the ER. My mom used to be a nursing assistant and my dad an EMT...so I know how dangerous a high temp can be. Popsicles are a good form of hydration when they are that sick! Good luck! My prayers are with the little guy and you for going with so little sleep!

One of my 3 boys always runs high during a fever. Some kids just do that. My other 2 can be given Tylenol. This one must be given Motrin first then Tylenol a couple hours later or neither will phase him. Go figure. It is scary. Hope it turns out to be just some plain old bug.

you need Motrin and tylenol, the motrin is like every 6 hours and the tylenol every 4, thats what we do with high fevers (dr told us too) it brings it down every time for us. i also let my kids splash in the tub as long as they want when they have a fever it helps with the childs comfort i think.

He is teething his molars are coming in, he is 19 months. But now adays the doctors say that breaking teeth is not a cause of fever.. The other night his mom said he had a fever of 100 by the morning it went away he was fine but slept 14 hours , he was fine all day yesterday ate good, played and then started the fever. I tried to to call my daughter her phone is off so she might be at the docs..

I hope your grandson is feeling better. My doctors have said to let the kids play in the tub for 20 minutes in a slightly warm bath. That will help take the fever away faster. My daughter gets unexplained fevers alot, so we are well versed on the motrin, tylenol, and bath routine.

His fever stayed around 100 all day spiked to 102 around 5 tonight, My daughter took him to after care. Its a neat program through the childrens hospital, like the ER. For minor things. they said it was a virus, is testing swine, put him on meds.

Poor thing--I remember my DS would get such high fevers like that when he was little, too. I hope he's feeling better soon.
