    Talking Hello from Missouri

    I've go to get serious about simplifing my lifestyle!

    My name is Katie and I am 26 year old student/SAHM. I am married to my husband for 3 years, but we have been together for 8. I have a two year old son. I am in school to be an occupational therapist.

    Here is my challenge. We are moving in with my parents soon and I wanted to start over fresh. I want to not spend money needlessly(which makes our paycheck-to-paycheck life harder) and to save hor our own house.

    You see, husband and I were indefinately housesitting at thier house because they moved in with grandpa because he was sick. Last month, grandpa passed away and they had a choice: to buy grandpa's big house on a nice piec e of property or to move back here with us.

    This house is small.

    So, I suggested that we fix up the basement there and husband and I can move in with them. They can sell this house and have alot of money to retire on! Everyone was alright with this and I have started packing.

    And thier house is on a big piece of land right in the middle of St. Louis county. They have a garden on it which in the past we have made 1K a summer selling tomatoes. My mom wants to get chickens. Granda designed and built the house and he was a son of a prominent farming family so it has alot of room for storing jars.

    So, last night, I am looking over all of my stuff and I realize that I don't want to move it all, so I am going to limit my stuff(sans furniture) to two car loads. I have a Malibu and a Cavalier and I am still thinking of which to gauge my measurement.

    I also have realized that my overspending and needless spending is not really respecting my husband who works very hard to provide for us as I finish school. Even though he loves to indulge my wants, we end up suffering with it before the next paycheck hits.

    That's why I am here. I want to be frugal. I want to live a more natural lifestyle. I want to be free of the comercial lifestyle. I also like making friends. =)

    It sounds like you are on your way since a lot of the realizations you've already had can be some of the biggest hurdles. Congrats on beginning a rewarding journey.
