Default I am returning with my tail between my legs

Hey everyone. I have been missing for quite some time. Life has thrown me threw a few major loops.

I lost my job in february. I have been on unemployment ever since. I have applied for over 500 jobs and I have only had one interview.

My boyfriend finally found a job in march, he had been out of work for a little over a year. He still has it and I am so thankful.

We had to give up our apartment at the beginning of this month. We had the plan to park our camper (that tylers parents gave to us) at my dads until we can find another in each, well the day we moved out we started loading the camper and lo and behold the stupid thing leaks, the whole thing!!! Ugh.

So my dad was kind enough to let us move into his basement. It has been very challenging but at least we have a dry place to sleep.

The frugal side of me has been really squashed. I feel uncomftorable making meals as they really only eat steak. I feel that our frugal meals aren't good enough which has counter acted and left us eating out, everyday. I am so frustrated. And when I feel uncomftorable ilat home I feel like a have to shop and shop like crazy ugh. I don't know why?

But I'm done with that starting today we will go back to living über frugal, we have to or we will be living in this basement forever!!

I am so sorry, Brandi. Why in the world would you have your tail between your legs, though? You should have your head held up high. Not many of us could take those kind of blows and come out of it with your great attitude! I am sure, now that your boyfriend has a steady income and you are obviously busting your butt to do the same, you'll be moving up (literally) in no time!!

Un-tuck the tail and jump back in. You have a whole community behind you. And if you slipped a little, no one in their right mind can blame you. I often react to things I don't like by turning my head and hoping they will go away. They don't, and then, like you, I realize that the only way to fix a problem is to face it head on and acknowledge it. You got there faster than I usually do!!

Whatever I can do to encourage or support you, my PM is always open. And you know I have no life, and I'm lurking around FV pretty much 24/7, so feel free to reach out any time you think you need a virtual hand up. I am sure that applies to everyone else here (well, maybe not the "no life" part) as well.

Welcome back!! I expect you to dig in and show us how it is done!!

Character has nothing to do with how you handle the good times, but has everything to do with how you handle the bad times. You will make it through this tough time in your life. I can tell by your attitude. You still care about the life you lead.

Take that tail out from between your legs, brush yourself off, and pick up and start anew. Life throws us some doozies sometimes, but we bounce back. You are on your way back and we're so happy that you chose to make the journey with us! Welcome back!!!

If you want to live in the camper so that way you can cook your frugal food. There is a silver roof tar just for trailer houses and campers it comes in 5 gallon bucket used to cost around $50 but you usually only have to use it on the seams every year ,so it lasts along time.I know if it was me I'd rather have my own place even if it was a camper. At age 17 I bought the cutest little 8X30 trailer house, lived in it 3 years.Wish I still had it, was the cheapest place I ever lived,400 gal. of propane lasted a year.

    Welcome back

Don't feel bad, the economy is still rough in a lot of places.

One of our neighbors/ friends had to let the daughter and her hubby move into their basement. They eat supper together. The daughter lost her job due to a cut back recently, but just found another job she likes better. Her hubby works a full time job, and now will be working on the weekends too. They're pulling together and making it.

Just post your concerns.......we'll get you headed in the right direction again. One day at a time

I have had a bad month for spending and not keeping track.....I think I'll jump in there w/you and start over. From now on I am doing better.

As for the camper, you can put a tarp on top of it too. When I was in college I lived in a tent one summer..... You can do it and I bet it will be a great summer too!
