Jon and Kate + 8!!???!!
Okay, I know, I know, with all the debate surrounding this couple why even bother, but I just have to ask!!!
Did anyone watch the season primerre of the show??? What did you think??
I just want to say that I feel so bad for those kids, and the more stuff I read the more I am getting the impression that Kate is just super money hunger and such!!
I can also say that I have watched the show several times and there are several things that I have learned from Kate concerning organizing and such, has anyone picked up a few pointers???
What do you think?? Pros/Cons?? I think Kate is in this more for the money, but I really think Jon just wants to go back to living a normal life (as normal as you can with 8 kids)!!!
Lets hear you opinions!!!

I watched it, but my satellite went out during the last 15 minutes of the show. :gaah:
Kate really grinds my nerves because she is such a control freak. I really don't think she's much of a mom anymore to be honest and I think that's because she's so self absorbed. Everything seems to be about her. How many times did she have to tell us she had to put the party together all alone because Jon needed a break? Well, I guess he did considering all she does is jet around the country now.
As far as Jon, I think it was clear that he didn't want to be on the show and he resents the whole thing now. Honestly, I'm not saying what he did was right, but I'm not sure how he managed to stay married to Kate this long.Last edited by Missourimom; 05-27-2009 at 12:13 PM.

I did watch the epsiode and I feel so very sad for the entire family. When one of the little girls told her dad she didnt want him to leave again it broke my heart.
I think some of us forget that this is Kate's "job" and her way of helping out the family. I am not saying what she does is right or wrong, but some think she is flying across country for the fun of it, when actually this is part of her job, just like any celebrity. They are celebrities, maybe not from Hollywood, but they are just the same.
I really hope they can mend their marriage and get on with their lives. Seperation, divorce, is not easy let alone to have millions of people watching your every move, which is a decision they made a long time ago to invite people into their lives.
I am no-one to judge how other people raise their children, treat their spouse or how they make a living.Last edited by G'MaDebbie; 05-27-2009 at 12:41 PM.

I don't like her, but I've seen the show a few times and I'm very curious about the food she serves. They often show them at lunch, and the meals look really interesting. I'd love to see her meal plan & recipes. My poor kids are stuck with grilled cheese sandwiches most days, I don't know what hers are eating, but they look a lot better than what we're having.

I did watch it, and my heart was breaking for the kids. I wanted to cry when the one child asked her dad why he left.
The Kate I liked was the one in the first season, when she was just wearing shorts and a T-shirt looking haggered like every mom in the midst of chaos. Not the one in the designer clothes and $100's haircuts. No celebrity perks of free vacations.
The one thing that irritated me the most was during last season. The had a "green" episode. They claim to feed the kids all "organic" food. They were "greening" the new 1.5 million dollar house. I see her on camera every episode with a plastic disposable water bottles, kids eating on disposable plates, styrofoam cups. What 1.5 million doesn't get you a dishwasher? Plus we all know they have help. If you are going to talk the talk walk the walk. Has anyone ever seen a grocery bill? Imagine what that must cost.
You can't always get want you want. Everything has a price. Too bad the family and the kids are the currency.

I watched the show as well! The feel for this new season is completely different than all the others. Kate is acting completely different than she has in the past. You could see that both parents are a little sad...obviously going through a divorce is going to make them sad. But the kids seemed happy...So I'm hoping that they don't know what's going on yet...It broke my heart too when the little girl asked her daddy not to leave anymore. Jon looked at a loss for words. It's a sad, sad situation. I hope that they can pull their act together for those kids...even if that means leaving fame and fortune behind them...and being a family once again!

I didn't realize that Jon had quit his work and I had no idea she traveled so much. I do think that Kate LOVES the money and fame. And we can all sit back and judge but if you were in her shoes you would probably get into it too.
I think they are just too different. He is relaxed and down to earth and she is a DIVA of sorts. It a little sad because I think she cares more about the money then her husband.
My thought are that Jon is over it, and he didn't look like he cared much to work on things with her either. MY guess, she is being a lot nastier to him then she is showing the camera. I think it's time for them to go back to real life.As these kids age people will loose interest anyways.

I know that the first seasons i liked watching too how organzied she was . And I thought this is somone who could contribute something to society. I like the duggars show only beacsue they keep it real and frugal.
I just hope that they can make it work out not just for the kids but for themselfs and trying to find out who they are and get back to reality.
not the hollywood glam thing either.

My impression of the two of them is that they are not in love, or even in like with each other. In that case they should either go to marriage counseling or split up. They both looked miserable and sad to me. Kids know when their parents are unhappy. Neither one of them seems to want to save the marriage, they say they are just trying to do the best for the kids.

I loved watching in the begining when I could relate to them...(somewhat) though on a smaller scale, she was still just a regular mom doing her best to make ends meet....now...it's so far past that!! I'm not up for watching an hour long commercial (juicy juice, crocs, gymboree...etc)...I think I'll keep the duggars and ditch jon and kate...
altough...I too noticed that she seemed different in this episode, she seemed to be more aware of what others thought of herself and seemed....kinder...lol..for lack of a better word...

The bottom line is everyone can say what they want but none of us see's what goes on behind close doors. You can say what you want but thats a fact. I think its wrong for people to judge because guess what most of you guys are not perfect! And you know very well if someone offered you money to do a tv show about your family you would do it no matter how many times you can sit there and tell me no.
I think people need to get over it and move on. Grow up its not your right to judge others.

While I agree with your remarks about judging, I disagree with you when you say that we would jump at the chance to have our lives on tv. I know people who have been offered that chance and have turned it down. I would too...just based on what I've seen other reality shows do to families. For you to say you know what I would do is a bit like the pot calling the kettle black, don't you think?
