Anyone know how this works?? Do we get to take this as a credit on our next tax return?? I bought a house after the cut off and was wondering how this credit works??

As I understand it, yes, in 2010 when you file your 2009 tax return, you will identify the purchase of your first house and claim the 8k tax credit.

you can also admend your 2008 taxes and get that moeny back sooner than waiting until you file for 2009.
