What a week...fingers crossed.
Some of the girls from the Loose a Pound a week challange will know that I had decided recently to apply at uni for nursing next year. Well on Monday i was wasting time at work (as i do) and came accross a nursing forum that mentioned about a uni in another state from me offering nursing via external distance education. So i wandered off and had a look. They are currently open for mid year applications.
So i have applied
Now i have to get all my certificates together (have had to order and pay $75 for a replacement one that i cant find) and send them off with a personal statement and have also enrolled to sit the Special Tertiary Admissions Test on the 20th. As im mature age, they use the test, my personal statement, recent study and work history for my application.
The first round of offers come out on 9 July. Fingers crossed i get in. The uni is up in the Northern Territory (Darwin) and i only have to go up there for 1 week res schools for each full year of study i do. Since ill initially be doing part time, it would only be every 2 years or something.
My poor credit card though, in the last 5 days i have had to pay $110 for the test, $75 for the certificate, $40 application admin fees and $20 for a sample questions book to help me study for the test. It will be worth it though.
The admin centre have told me that if i dont get in, i can reapply in august for 2010 entry and the rejection wont affect me at all.

Money stretching your plastic well spent. I hope it works out well for you. I actually think you might have a great personality for nursing. I think uni is unit? I always have fun guessing when you write because I am an untraveled American.lol Good luck!!
