Default Our One Year Anniversary On The Building Of Our Off Grid Home

Hello everyone. It's been almost 1 year since my DH and I broke ground for our off grid home. We built it ourselves and my DH designed our solar system without any prior knowledge to solar systems. We have been living off our own electric for almost a year. It is great being so self sufficient.

If you want to see our story you can read all about it at:
    http://www.city-data.com/forum...-east-tennessee.html

We are also in the middle of redesigning our solar set up. Here is the link that tells that story. It will be complete in next week's installment of my story.

I love reading about your off-the-grid home and I'm glad it's working out so well. Unfortunately, the links you provided aren't working and I couldn't read next week's installment.

I tried the links too and no luck, but good for you. When we build we want to go solar also. I've always loved the idea of using natural energy.

I so admire people like you and your dh.

That dirt road with ferns long it looks soooo much like our property up here in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Gorgeous!

I love the barn. Is that staying?

Thank you. Yes the barn is staying, at least for as long as it is still standing.

Great job-good for you. We are saving for solar panels-that's our long term goal-we'll get there sooner or later.

Lisa I have been following your story since I first found the post here at frugal village I absolutely love reading the weekly updates. You and your husband have done an amazing job in just one year. I bet it has all be really rewarding, a lot of hard work, and I bet that it has even made you closer together.
