I don't think that any of our wal-marts around here have had a layaway system for a few years. I started using gift cards at wal-mart for high-end purchases for this reason.

Ours stopped over a year ago.

I think it was all of Wal-Mart stores dropping this and it's awful. We used it every year. There's been a lot of changes with our Wal-Mart over the past 3 years and I don't really like them.

If your town has a K-Mart they still have this service.

Yes, but Kmart and Sears do. Thank God!

I thought I heard wal-mart was going to have layaway for just the holiday season's. Like just through November and must be picked up by December something.

Which really doesn't help those of us that try to get this done through out the year. I really do not care for K-mart, they don't have the selection wal-mart has for toys either but at least they have an option.

kmart does have some goodc clearance sales. You can put clearance stuff on layway.

This is why I'm so upset that Kmart left Canada entirely. We used to buy our higher end stuff there. I'm finding WalMart is becoming too expensive. Byway is also gone. At least we still have Zellers.

Yeah, our WM's stopped doing layaways a couple of years ago. When I need to use a layaway (usually for big items or just to keep gifts a surprise) I go to Kmart, the PX, or TJMaxx.

That is good to know. I will have to tell a friend that uses it, in case she hadn't heard.

Our Walmart hasn't done layaways for years either. Really miss it when I need it.
