My Daddys Gone
As some of you may remember I have been dealing with my ederly parents and their dementia. My Dad has been in a nursing home since he fell in Dec 2008. His dementia was not too severe He still knew me and at times was quite lucid. In the back of my mind I always held out hope that he could return home . However problems with my Mom her dementia and her drinking stopped me from bringing him back to their home which is quite near mine. I sincerly felt that he was being well cared for and he was quite happy in the nursing home and I was able to visit him every week. Last week we were together sitting outside and he turned to me and said I think this is the last time Ill see you. He said Im sorry for leaving you with the burden of your Mother I wish I could make your life easier. I guess somehow he knew he was going to die becasue two days later he was in the hospital He passed away 6/15. I am so profoundly sad I know I was a agood daughter and I did everything i possibly could for him.The best thing I did was get him Hospice care for his last few days. I can not stress how important this was. To the hospital my Dad was just a patient. To he the hospice workers he was a human being who should be allowed to die with comfort and digninty. Pax Christie thank you for all you did for my Dad and me.Now i have to deal with my mom and all those things that come after someone dies.I will miss my Dad always but we had such an awesome relationship and I will always be grateful for that .He taught me so many things I am proud to be his daughter and Daddy I hope I make you proud too.

Oh, Lora, I'm so sorry.
When I read the line about what he turned and said to you, I almost cried.
Take care of your mom as best you can, but take care of yourself, too.______

In Sympathy
In your sorrow, you will also know the blessing of precious memories of your Dad, and of his counsel.
His life has completed its course on this earth and has been taken up to the heavenly places to return to the Creator.
"In His Presence is fullness of joy". And restoration.
May the Lord's comfort, grace and peace be yours at this time, and in the times ahead! God Bless You!
