    Default Half Bathroom Remodeling

Does anyone know what will cost for labor only to add a half bath? I have all of the materials. I have unused space under staircase and I want to add a half bath. All plumbing can be used from upstairs bathroom near by.

Prices can vary for different parts of the country. I would advise you to get the names of contractors from friends/relatives.

Then get several estimates. I recently read an online article that said remodeling prices are down because there aren't so many people flipping houses, doing high end upgrades, etc. It also stated the many home builders have gotten into the remodeling business because new home building is down.

Just remember - cheapest is not always best!

    Good Luck!

I agree that cheapest is not always best but I would check around for local contractors and make sure they are licensed and insured. Shouldn't be too much since you can tap into existing plumbing. Let us know what you come up with.

Licensed and insured is not necessarily a guarantee. Work ethic and their knowledge is most important. My dh has been working in several areas of construction for several years and is not licensed, but is insured. When he starts a job he stays at that job until it is finished; he also fixes things when there is a problem after the job is complete. He is reliable, dependable, and does the job right. I just asked my dh how much it would be he said it would be hard to say, not seeing where it needs to be put.
