Default wish i would have kept my MJ stuff

Have you seen the price of the michael Jackson stuff is selling for. Ten years ago i sold both of my thriller records 1 sealed 1 opened. I heard on the news that sealed Thriller records and other memorabilia is going very high, like in the $ 1,000's. I looked in ebay there is one at $ 900 .

Mentioned on the news that Barnes and Noble and Amazon had sold out in minutes this morning.

I really don't understand the whole craze of buying memorobilia when someone dies??? If you didn't have/want it before, why do people want it now?
But then.....I can't figure out why people are so shocked that he's dead.

I guess if i was really needing the money and i have not listened to the stuff in awhile or it was still collecting dust i would sell it to pay the bills, i guess it would be no different then selling junk at a auction when someone dies.

I just find it really disrespectful to the memory of anyone to sell something that they have their name attached to, just for the sake of making a quick dollar. Even if the person in question did things that others found offensive or otherwise improper, I think it's even more improper to sell something like that just because the person has passed on.

The whole thing just disgusts me.

I think people are in such shock because of his age and of how big of a superstar he was. The ones who aren't all that hung up on the famous thing may not understand and that's perfectly great! It's the ones who are still sitting in front of the TV four days after it happened really need to find something better to do with their time.

I was a big fan of his and I was astounded at what happened. However, life goes on, kwim?

He was a great singer, i agree. I did love his music. But i guess just not one to fall on my knee's and cry over someone or worship him like i see some that are doing. When i was a teen i had my favorite songs just like i love and wanted to marru Shawn Cassidy, i never cried over them. But you have 40,50 and up just bawling , and pasing out over this man.

I have one of his dolls that is not in the package and we found a new, in the package outfit for it. I bought it nude (for $1 at a yard sale) only because I thought it might be worth something "someday". I'm in no hurry to sell right now, though. I did look on ebay to see what it might be going for. I have no special feelings for him so I would have no problems selling his things. I don't really see it as disrespectful, either, since I would be passing it on to someone who does want it more than I do.

What I found odd is that my daughter (teenager) told me that if something should happen to her she wanted me to sell all her things on ebay except one or two dolls. She seems to have no sentimental attachments to her own things.

I hate it when that happens, or when you buy a new item, and the price drops like 100 dollars in a week or two.
