The most "lovely" sound at 11:30pm...
was of someone dumping an entire truckload of stuff in the middle of the back alley.
Thankfully, it wasn't near my fence line or I'd have been even more upset!
DH and I are in bed and we hear this vehicle stop. All of the sudden, loud crashing and banging happens for about 30 seconds. Then I hear the neighbors yelling expletives at whomever was doing it and then I hear someone else yell it right back. They spin their tires while taking off and it's quiet afterwards.
I went out this morning to look at the mess. It's gross! Old bathroom sink, old bathroom toilet, bird bath and other assorted items all strung across the alley. How can some people be so careless?Wife to DH since 10/31/2002!

What nerve! I hate it when people are so discourteous. How would they like it if someone dumped trash right in their front yard? It's too bad it was so late and someone couldn't get the license plate number off the truck.

I wish I hadn't been in bed already, else I'd have ran downstairs at the first sound of the commotion and done that. It's still pretty light at 11:30pm here, but it might not have been light enough to get the plate number.
I'd say this is the first time in four years that this happened. I'm glad it wasn't a repeat thing, but I will be keeping my eyes out for it in case it does.Wife to DH since 10/31/2002!

Seems they were dumping illegally if you ask me, someone should mention it to the authorities about the dumping happening late at night.

I wish I could, but the cops would have needed to know what type of vehicle it was and who was doing the dumping before they'd do anything about it. Back when our van was stolen, they wouldn't look at the license that was found on the side of the road and dust it for prints.
