A nice surprise today...
I went into the office first thing this morning for mandatory meeting to find that...I am the employee of the quarter for my company!
That includes the hospital, home health and rehab departments. I received a plaque and a $250 gift card. Now the gift card can only be used at two malls in our city. Of course, they are the two "upscale" malls here, but hey--I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth.
I figure I'll either keep it and use it during Christmas or will keep an eye out for some great sales. Anyway, just wanted to share my good news with y'all. It was a nice change from the typical Monday back to work.

Good for you Michelle! I'd be doing the Happy Dance for a week

Whatever you're doing, you're doing it right! Now forget about the gifts. Take some of it, and treat ~yourself~ to something nice. You deserve it!
Congratulations!!

Congratulations, that is a wonderful honor!
A word of warning though, from experience. Your company will probably have to tax you for the gift card, the 40 prevent gift tax and you may see your next paycheck is smaller.
Perhaps the gift card avoids this, but last year I received a 250 check from my company for my 5 years anniversary. I spent the money immediately paying off a cc bill only to discover my next paycheck was smaller because I had been gifted with the extra 250.
I feel like such a meanie saying this, just a word of warning.
