    Default SuperWalmart Sux! Rant

My gift cards for Walfart arrived in the mail - I had received 2 $50 cards from MyPoints. Anyway, I really never shop at our super Walfart here, but thought that it would be a good idea to use the gift cards to add some more food items to our stockpile...so off to the Super Walmart we went. I wasn't really impressed w/ their over-all grocery prices, but I did find some canned fruit & meat products that were acceptable. So I get to the checkout & handed the cashier my coupons...I had 7 cps for Peterpan peanutbutter...cashier says "sorry, its Walmart's policy that you can use only 1 coupon per transaction." What a bunch of BS...it didn't say that on the cpn..just that it was good for only one jar of peanutbutter. I was in a hurry & there were people in line after me...so,I said "okay, I'll only be buying 1"...so the cashier puts the others aside. Okay...I had a cpn for French's mustard...75 off one ANY size....the register wouldn't accept it..GGrr - this was getting VERY irritating...so I nicely told the cashier..I guess that I won't be buying that either.....next the canned roastbeef & Gravy rang up at $3.34 a can, when the price on the shelf said it was $2.26...& I had carefully looked over these prices - so I didn't buy that either...& when I got home, I checked my receipt & b/c I had become so distracted by all of the other discrepencies, I hadn't caught that I was charged $1.98 for a box of laxatives when the price on the shelf said $1.88....needless to say, I was soooo ticked at WalFart...& felt so badly for the cashier who kept appologizing to me...I told her that it wasn't her fault, it was Walmart's.....I can just imagine the grief she must get from other customers.
So today, I went to my regular store with all of my cpns in hand & everything went through perfectly - I don't think that I will be shopping at the Supercenter anymore Okay..rant over,I fell better now. Thanks for listening lol

Sorry this happened to you........that sucks!

I've never been 'overly impressed' with their prices either......though there are some things I buy there.......not the meat or produce though.

I have caught them with 'bad prices' many times but usually the cashier just voids the prior $ and puts in what ever I say it was.......like they could care...right??? But here they honor any other store price and one gal I know, takes the ads in, and just tells them what to ring up.........guess ours is pretty lax.

Oh, that is just ridiculous that you had to deal with that. I would have talked to the manager for sure.

They are getting harder and harder to deal with any more.Prices are going so high. It use to be great prices. But not anymore, clothes fall apart or shrink to nothing.

I recently posted about some glass coffee mugs I bought at our local Wal-Mart that shattered upon being filled with hot liquid. About the only thing I'll buy there now is yarn, and then only because they have a good selection of the Peaches and Cream brand, and my local yarn stores don't.

I don't know if you caught my rant about WM a few months ago but I haven't been back since. No one tells me I price changed a sticker when it was them that tagged it wrong and then rang it up wrong. I think the whole shopping experience there is RUDE. I am sorry you had such a hard time too.

WalMart's prices do suck! They used to be awesome back when they first came to my area but now I find their Food/HBA prices are more than the same item at my grocery store. I'm finding that even their generic brands (Great Value & Equate??) are significantly higher.

Also, I have had nothing but problems using coupons so I don't even bother anymore. We're talking 1-2 coupons, not a fistful.

And the self scan, you ask? I avoid those like the plague!

IMO it's trying to be working so diligently to be on top of our finances and then run into this kind of situation. You really held it together well.

I think that each WM is different in how they handle things. I have noticed their shirts shrink in length a lot.

We have to be even more careful where we spend our money and our energy. I know it's hard, but keeping negative energy out of our lives can be more important than trying to save $s in a hostile environment.

I just went to Walmart today. I never try to use coupons cause it's like pulling teeth with the cashiers there. Actually when DD was in the dressing room trying on dresses I heard 3 Walmart employees talking about going to Target to shop cause they hated Walmart.

I'm sorry that happened to you.

here is Walmart's official coupon policy.

http://walmartstores.com/7655.aspx Having official policy is always handy when you are complaining to stores ( or to headquarters about stores)about stuff especially when what they say "It's Wal mart policy" and it doesn't match the official policy.

I have used more than one of the same coupon before they (the Wal mart cashier) just checked to make sure I had bought that many of that item. one per item like the policy says.

Many months ago I gave my opinion about Wal-mart and was blasted for it so I learned to keep my opinions to myself, but I will say I live close enough to Wal-mart to walk to it but I drive elsewhere.

    Cool

    A suggestion:
Send an email to Walmart head office with all of these remarks just posted. They need to get this input; maybe then, things will change for the better. Do they really want to discourage shoppers, alienate the consumer, and disappoint people to the point where they will shop elsewhere???

Having worked there for a short time and being engaged to someone who has worked there a very long time, I can tell you that Wal-Mart sucks on more than one level. The way they treat their employees, in my experience, it's no wonder customers aren't treated well either.

Honestly, I don't think they care. They deal in volume, and if one customer is ticked off that's fine because there'll be hundreds more that will shop there anyway just because they think they can't afford to go anyplace else.
