Remember a few years back when my niece was so badly burned in the fire?
Another post got me thinking of this and the power of positive thought and prayers. So I'm sure sending my prayers that way today.
When they didn't think she would live she pulled through. During her months of touch and go she pulled through. During her 10 months in the hospital she pulled through. In the last 3 years and 3 months of many many surgeries she is a force to be reckoned with and pulled through with flying colors to inspire others! When she feels so sad that her friend she burned herself so badly trying to save died she knows she has a guardian angel and is here for a reason.
I honestly think all the prayers and positive thoughts help. She still has a big box with cards from all over the world thanks to the Villagers and a few other connections. She still looks at all the nice little things people sent and all the cards with kind words, prayers and blessing on a regular basis when things feel tough.
She was in an issue of "People" last month. We were all very proud of our hero! She is a survivor! I think so much can be contributed to the power of all the positive thoughts and prayers!!! So send those positive thoughts and prayers up to those that need them.
And yes, I will freely admit this is coming from a girl who doesn't attend church but sure prays!~July 19 saving goal for event $104/$1000

It was the issue with Kate (from Kate plus 8) in a pink dress. They had a story on burn camp and there was a picture of her in there learning to cover up her burns on the more burned side of her beautiful well loved face.

Mahalo for sharing - I'm new so didn't know your niece's story. I agree with your heartfelt words - prayers work!!

My goodness! So many trials in such a young life! Doesn't reading things like this help you realize how insignificant some of the things we worry about are? It certainly puts a different perspective on things for me.
Thanks for posting this inspirational up-date!
Hugs to all of your family

That is a very wonderful story........the next time I am crabbing over something piddly, I will remember it and stop being so ungrateful in my life.
I am going to have to raid MIL's people mag inventory and read the article.
