I dont think there is anything wrong with wanting nor getting nice things. Its the part where alot of people run up their credit cards and bury themselves in debt to get them because so many lack patience nowadays to wait til they can afford it. I know folks who pay $350 a month just on credit card minimum balances! I wouldnt be able to sleep at night. It just seems that those of us who try to be more frugal are few and far between now.

My husband works with a man that his wife has had three cell phones in the past year because they are better than the last. This woman can't cook so her husband doesn't have a lunch unless he packs it (or he eats the extra I send with my dh for him. I always put in extra for this reason.)
They are on the verge of losing their home but can afford 4 wheelers and 600 dollar remote control cars. It's unreal. I really have no wants. My dh gave me 1/2 the income tax refund. Around 1500 dollars and told to buy what I wanted. I got gas, groceries and some clothes for him. oh I did get a much needed hair cut. but I'd like to be able to get dh a 4 wheeler but right now it ain't going to happen. Maybe in two years when the house is paid for and fixed up.Last edited by pop goes the weasel; 07-15-2009 at 11:07 AM.

I agree. DH is pretty good, but sometimes his attitude is like that. His latest "entitlement" is a large screen (42") TV that he says he has always wanted. I put my foot down 'cause we don't make enough. He thinks that we'll be able to get a large screen when I go back to work full time. It just isn't that easy. He is bummed about it... like 'somebody up there doesn't like him'.
He's not too bad. He just gets into a funk about something every once is awhile.
