Default I just don't freakin' get people!!!!

    WARNING! Vent ahead!

I don't get people who refuse to deal with and change their situations (EVEN when they HAVE the opportunity), but rather bitch about them!!!!!

Case #1- my Hubba's nephew is *supposedly* miserable at his job, no room for advancement, not enough money, etc. Hubba goes OUT OF HIS WAY to put in a good word higher up at the company he's working for, gets a recruiter calling, etc. Only things is- you may need to relo. Nephew- "Yay, all for it. Bring it on." (More or less). I told Hubba- yeah right, they won't move. Hubba says "I think he will, he's at that point." I say "Yeah he MIGHT, which I doubt, but I KNOW wife won't." Hubba says "Yeah she's at that point as well. Hubba finds out recruiter has called a few times & nephew refuses to pick up his phone-

    -doesn't hear it
    -battery's dead
    -phone's not in reach

    etc etc etc

    WHATEVER!!!!! Cry me a river.

    Case #2-

A friend of mine moves in with her Mom for the summer to "save money." She goes on & on & on about saving money, yada yada. 2 weeks later..... She says she's getting her hair coloured. I said "I thought you were trying to save money?" She says "well I am, but it's important to me that I look good." I said "Go to the store & buy a box for less than 10 bucks." She more or less passes that off as "not good enough." A week later she's crying a river of how she's desperately trying to make some money.....

    WHATEVER!!!!! Cry me a river.

And here's the sad part, I don't care if either of these people or their families read this. Maybe they'll think. If not, maybe they'll realise that until they are ready to follow some advice from someone that CAN save money I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR IT!!!!

    Rant over.....

I hear ya sister! I am in the same boat with my step-daughter, SIL and her kids, and hubby's brother and wife. They whine, cry, bitch, and moan, but don't DO anything to fix the problem.

Step-daughter MIGHT be coming around, but I am not holding my breath! She asked for advice about paying off her credit cards. We will see if she listens.

Yup, I've got friends who tell me how broke they are, have large bills, can't afford to repair the car.... and then tell me about their new cell phones, how many times they ate out this week, etc. When DH and I leave for vacation next month we'll hear how they wish they could take a vacation too. I've given up telling them to put $10 or $20 a week aside (less than the cost of one dinner out). They just refuse to "get with it".

You are quite right about some people enjoying the complaining-it is never their intention to actually do something about, just to b&#*h becaue that's all they have the brain for.

I totally understand. A friend told me last week how lucky I was. Um, has she seen me hanging laundry, cooking, canning, gardening?? Just luck. Right.

Hey, I have a sister, who loves my hot dog sauce, loves my jelly, loves my spaghetti sauce, is constantly telling me how lucky I am that my pantry shelves are stocked with all of "My" canning stuff. She lives pay check to pay check, doesn't work, BIL makes great money and she's always broke. Spend, spend, spend. On nothing. But she'll turn up her nose when I suggest she learn to can or make anything from scratch. No garden but is always here with her hand out for some tomatoes or cucumbers. It's fast food or convience food all the time. 5-6 different kinds of soda in the fridge, no stockpile what-so-ever. She goes to the grocery store every day and can't understand why she has no money. She also refuses to buy anything but top of the line name brands, no store brands for her. Then she has the nerve to gripe at me because we must not be telling her how much we actually make.
I work, DH works, we plant a garden, can, cook everything from scratch, stockpile, shop only sales, that's the name of the game sis. try it.
