So wrong
I think the man is owed by the state. all money he has payed and he should be payed for money he could have been earning and the embarrasment. The Mother needs to fess uo to who the father is if she knows.

He was paying when he believed the child was his. I think it's outrageous that the state expects him to continue to pay back child support. The mother or the bio father should be responsible for for reimbursing the state for those funds. Too often the state really does not care who is really the parent, just that someone, anyone reimburses it for support. That's wrong.
I hope he sues and gets a pile of damages from the state.

i dont feel sorry for him at all.. he should have taken care of this when the child was young and done dna or blood test then.. not sure dna was cheap or expensive then.. im so sick of men not being adults and facing problems head on but running, hoping the problem will go away

If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

Here in ILLINOIS i think they passed a law a few years ago before they could get a guy for child support they would have to confirm dna first. I think they should. There is just way to many little miss run arounds in the world these days saying he's my baby daddy. Gosh after 5 guys none of them are.Its just sad. They girls will look for the guy thats got the money and says ohh your are my baby daddy and bam he is paying child support. The girl is laughing all the way to the bank.

I agree with Greebo! That stinks , he should be paid back and also get money from the state for damages.
I might be a woman but I can see he is getting done dirty.....
And I don`t think it is right.

I think shes at fault and not just the state > she made him belive he was the father and I know she wont be able to get the money back to him that I belive she owes him. I would sue the state if I was him. he thought he was doing his job.

In our state a subpoena is issued for DNA testing when a woman applies for public assistance, if she was an unmarried mother. What a jolly good time for a few low lifes that will just start naming men at random. Each is issued their subpoena, whether they had sex or not, on her say so. Fun , fun. I worked very briefly for DFS in CSE.Sickening, and a hasty adios.

The laws in this country are screwed up. There is a lady in my town is the biggest, im not even going to use the word she has 8 kids has no clue who the fathers are. She collect all goverment money, when they ask her about child support. She she cant collect. She tells them John Doe.
We are kinda in the same Situation with my step daughter. My husband has raised her since birth he was there. Her Bio mom put her in her name. So my husbands name is not on the b certicicate. BM leaves her and other the sister with my husband to raise, she has done this to 3 other kids and fathers. with my husband went to court . court legal custody of the youngest. she looks just like him, the oldest looks just like her mother. He only got guardianship of her. becuase of name. This has been 11 years ago. A few years go the oldest needed blood work typing done we got to looking she ddid not pick up either blood type my husbands or her mother my husbands O+ her mother her mother is 0- the sister is 0+ The one in question is B+ .So its a hard time for my husband, my step daughter, now not only does not have a bio mother that no long wanted her, but is in question about her bio father and who in the he is. There are just dumb A@@ woman in this world. If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal. Not to
people or things.

That's criminal! Unfortunately, even though he has proved he is not the father he still has to get the court order for the support reversed. We found out with my husband's kids that the court order is valid until he proves otherwise. If he's out of work and can't pay he has to get the order changed (lawyer, court date, the whole mess). This poor guy will have to do the same thing, get a lawyer and get it changed. I feel for him, a lot of times the "father" gets the dirty end of the stick.

I agree the man should be paid back but we all of course know, that this will NEVER happen. He was jailed as well, I would be suing that's for sure.
I think every state should have a law that states if a person wishes to collect child support that a DNA test be run, plain and simple.

When we decided to go for child support from my DD's bio dad (She was 16 at the time. We never would have gone to collect had her bio dad not pushed us too far.), we first had a DNA test done. I was absolutely certain he was her father, but he told us his wife of 14 years had questions. So we insisted on the DNA test and even paid for half of it. I agree that DNA should have to be done before child support is collected, especially if the parents were not married when the child was born. That ensures that no mistakes are made and all parties involved do not doubt their responsibility.

i ts such a waste responding .. the son is 21 but the man didnt have dna done until 9 years ago... if there are any issues with who the father is/was it has to be taken care of when the child is a baby.is not fair the child or tax payers..im sure he had doubts and should have done dna testing in 89 especially if he thought the mother was cheating.
the man is not a victum.. the child is.... poor kid doesnt know who his father is..car loan 12/2006 14,687.93
