How's your summer weather overall?
We are in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We come here in the summer to get away from the Ohio heat and humidity, and because it's beautiful here. BUT--It has been darn cold! I'm not really complaining---I hate hot, sultry summers. But THIS is ridiculous!

It is 3pm, and it is 59 degrees. We are trying not to light the heaters (LP gas), and I am sitting here in flannel PJ pants, a tee shirt, a SWEATSHIRT over that, socks and furry slippers. In July. And I'm dressed in heavy wintery clothes almost every day. Nights have been around 48.
There's been a LOT of rain, too.
We had one 3 day period at the end of June that was in the 80's and humid for 3 days, but other than that, it hasn't gone above 70. To top it off, I am trying to eat healthier, and salads and lots of raw fruits and veggies are making me feel cooooooolllldddd. I keep sipping hot tea, just to warm up.
This is weird! I can remember back when we used to bring our sons up here and everybody would be sweltering. What's going on?
Not that I want it super hot....just a little more summer-y.

Absolutely beautiful in the Hawaiian Islands - 80-90's - trade winds. Cooler at night for good sleeping. So far, so wonderful!!

We should be in the in the 90's with the heat index in the 100's and its 63. I wonder what winter will be like,I was watching something on tv the other day they mentioned if your having a mild summer expect a bad winter.. Not looking forward to that.

According to our news we have had 'wetter than normal' spring and our heat is just starting. We have had some major swings...up into the 90's then it will drop to low 70's.
Monday (think it was) we broke a record for the LOWEST high for the day...only got to 63. That is recorded out at our airport and I am usually about 5 degrees warmer.
We typically get our heat at the end of July and through August and we are supposed to push 100 this weekend, so we shall see.

Wierd, wierd, w-i-e-r-d..... Last year we didn't hit 100°F until August and only had 3-days of 100° or higher (all in August).
We had 18-days over 90°F in June and a BUNCH 100°F or over. Then we had a cool spell with temperatures below normal during the first week in July.
Back to temperatures 10°F above normal for about a week, and now an unbelievable break in the heat for July-in-Kansas and temperatures about 10-20° below normal. Highs barely making it into the low 80's and lows of 60°F - what a nice break from the awful heat!
We've also been blessed with some nice rain showers in July. I'm usually out doing a rain dance because my rain barrels are all but empty this time of the year, trying to keep the garden alive in the (normal for July) Kansas heat!!!

Rains everyday here. Sunny mornings, then either raining or threatening rain when we decide to go out. Yesterday was nice, but I've got a sweater on today. We should be sweltering at this point.

We've had a beautiful year so far. It warmed up earlier than usual, but we had our typical late freeze after that and then a lot of rain which put us above average for a bit. But June and July have been pretty normal. Temps in the 80-90+ range, a few days over 100 but not lasting, very high humidity. We've been getting the perfect amount of rain, thunderstorms about once a week and I have not had to water the garden.
We had thunderstorms yesterday bring cool air down from the rockies and it was in the 70's today. Just beautiful. Cooler than usual but nobody here is complaining. Looks like it's going to be a great weekend to, low 80's and breezy.
One thing you can count on with weather is that it *will* change. If you look at your historic temperatures for your area you'll see that they can vary by 20* on either side of what you consider normal.Use it up, Wear it out,

Hotter than usual, earlier than usual. We've had a really hot spell through yesterday (lower hundreds, heat index 107), but thunderstorms moved through last night and cooled it off to the low 90's. That may persist a couple a days. Maybe.
There was an article in the paper that the power company was going to have to insistute 2-hr rolling blackouts if the power demand did not decrease by today. Saved by the rain! We'll see what happens in a few days though. I hope it's just an idle threat!Donna

Wow! Let me wrap my head around this. You went somewhere to get away from the heat and it's cold. No disrespect, cab54 but burrow in and ENJOY!!!

Well I am in the lower penninsula just outside the thumb area and its been much cooler then normal here this summer. The kids have barely even been in the pool this summer. Currently its 68 and starting to rain. Looks like this week we arent getting any warmer then 80. I like it like this myself. My preference is winter all year long but if I have to go through the summer I am glad its a cooler one.
