    Default Potentially following a dream!

Ok, so if anyone has read my blog, we are planning on moving out of the city into a small town(just out of the city).

This little town is booming. It is growing and is amazing. We used to live near there, and I did my groceries there all the time, there was nearly nothing for stores there.

And I remember thinking when we lived out there, this would would be a FANTASTIC children consignment opportunity for some one. AND here we are 10 years later... moving INTO the town... and I still think it would be a great opportunity. I *know* we had discussed university for me. I was thinking teaching.

This is something I have thought about for quite awhile. Something I would enjoy, I always enjoyed retail work, just never my supervisors..lol. And right in a niche I am very familiar with....KIDS. I have a flare for kid fashion, what is popular etc. I know how to bargain.

Being a bedroom community, the store all have short hours, so it would be something that could be run with a very small staff. And lots of family time. I know we'd need a sizeable cushion to do this. I would seriously consider some business courses in the evenings to get the right know how.

This town is expanding fast, and it's ALL families. I know what the consignment stores are like in the city, and it could be a great possibility.

Any one have experience with this?

Look into your community college. Some offer adult continuing education courses that include small business management. Usually these courses are 8 to 10 weeks, a couple evenings a week and unlike regular college courses don't require prerequisites or a full curriculum.

Nothing that would really help....I don't know your area but our SBA (small bus. admin) here has some people that volunteer and are a fountain of knowledge in setting up a business. Might want to call yours and check it out.

But my very best wishes to you. Good luck......

Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

I think the timing is probably the best its ever been for opening a consignment store. Wishing you great success!
