I noticed it a few weeks ago, there was something a simmering. Store fronts were getting make overs, a few new stores going in. This weekend in our area I saw 2 Auto Zones going in and across from the large strip mall that has a packed parking lot all the time now, they are starting new construction. Complete with an entrance like a strip mall, with it's own trafic light. Several dump trucks and other construction vehicles are lined up ready to go. It must be a big job. YEA!!!! Love seeing construction work begin. That means in our area the banks are becoming more confident and are starting to release funds!!!! My husband's job sector is starting a come back around this way! Who Hoo!!
I'm glad it is picking up there for you .My DH just lost his job 2 hours ago and there is nothing here to apply for places are shunting down left and right. We may be moving 4000 miles from home .
I'm so sorry to hear your husband lost his job. I do understand, mine lost his 21 months ago and has had to work at a pizza shop and take every odd job he can find. No good jobs hiring out this ways yet.
But, I'm seeing growth in an area that was devastated by unemployment and thousands of illegals pouring in. Nothing has been happening around here in the last 2 years but sale signs going up in peoples yards and businesses going under. I hoping that it's like the posters above said, contagious and picks up speed to neighboring areas and beyond. All I know is I see growth and that's got to be good. I'm believing that this is the beginining of the end of the depression in our area and the future where my husband is once again gainfully employeed is on the horizon.
I hope your area sees growth really soon and you don't have to uproot your family for work. I'll be praying for you and yours.
I wonder if there is some balancing going on? I know I heard some job sectors will not return, but others will pop up. I'm hoping that's the case and all these jobs that are disappearing have new jobs in their place. But, those new job sectors also come with the price of reducation. It's been a rough road out there.
We've seen growth in our retirement too. It was almost totally wiped out and it grew $2000 since last quater. That's some big growth in such a short period of time. I've got to believe these are postive signs on a whole, and it's just going to take time.
