UGH! Called in to work............

on my day off! I am SO tired! Our weather has been really crazy with up and down temps, storms and tons of rain. Ds has a dog that barks at thunder so I've had little sleep over the weekend as it stormed all night Saturday and Sunday. Friday my brother and his wife got into a big fight and the police were called. I had to go up there at 9:30pm after I got off work to take him a phone because his got broken in the fight. I was up all night worrying over that situation and my nephews(they were with their mother that night thank God).

I had to work 10 hours Saturday because the other girl HAD to have that day off. I hadn't seen dh in three days because I was working day/evenings and he was working night shift. We had yesterday off together and I am supposed to be off today. But at 6:45 the phone rings! The other girl in now sick and can't come in. Our boss has a class today and will be gone all day and someone has to be there, so it's me!

I'm going in and use Chlorox wipes on EVERYTHING in my office and then spray it down with our super duper strength Lysol stuff(she worked yesterday). I do NOT want a stomach bug again. I had it in May and when you have a stomach condition anyway a stomach bug is extra horrible.

The big problem today is that I don't get paid overtime. So I'm giving up my day off for no extra money. I will get to take Monday off to make up for it, but that doesn't help me today and it kind of sucks too. I REALLY need to get to the grocery store and now I guess I will have to either go tonight after work or early in the morning before I go to work. I have worked 10-12 hour days 4 times in the last month and now called in on my day off and get no extra money for it. But I am thankful that I have a job so I guess it's all ok in the end!

It's raining and chilly again so it will be a slow day! I hope you all have a great day!

Bummer to have to work on a day off.......with no extra pay to boot.

What a challenging time for you - with all the other streses making it a bad time. Your attitude is realistic - you do have a job and will get another day off - seems that right now, thee's not a lot in your control - that too will change. Hang in there!! Hugs!!

Can you just not answer the phone sometimes. The manager gets paid to fill in. Thats why the salary. A class. Personal or for the company.

Well he's not a manager, he's the boss. And he had a class that he had to attend for his job. He had no choice. He has to have this class to be certified to run our water plant and they only offer it once a year.

I could have said no, but I am the type of employee that works for the customers/campers. We had several campsites rented(about 12) and if noone is there they can't get ice, firewood or anything in the camp store and the bathrooms don't get cleaned. I don't know, I just can't NOT go when he calls because I feel for those campers.

I did clean that office like a mad woman though LOL. I bought off brand Chlorox wipes and gloves and took with me. I put the gloves on in the car and then unlocked the office and set to work. I wiped down every single service I could imagine that she touched the day before. Then I sprayed it all down with our industrial strength Lysol product. Then later in the day I used the wipes again and sprayed twice more LOL! If there was a germ of any kind in there it's surely dead now (I hope!). She did go to work this morning which makes me nervous because even if she's feeling better she probably still has germs and I have to go in at 1. I'm going to try to avoid answering the phone until she leaves at 4(she can answer it) and just use my hand sanitizer alot until she leaves. Then after she is gone I am going to wipe/spray it all down again.

this is not the same girl who u said earlier that hardly does anyhting and just talks alot right? the one u had the prob with? if not disregard the comment lol I was just curious lol
