Sweet waitress/owner at the end of the buffet.
Today, DH took a half-day of vacation to take DreamStar to a concert. As he was leaving, he said, "You and SeaStar have fun too!"
So, we did -- we went to the thrift store, then we picked up snacks and a movie, then we went out to a mom-and-pop Chinese restaurant for a late lunch.
We didn't order the buffet -- just ordered from the lunch specials on the menu. SeaStar and I were chatting away, not noticing that the restaurant was emptying out. The the owner brought us desserts -- mango slices and little powdered donuts from the buffet. We thanked her and finished our lunch.
But then, while we were waiting for the check, the waitress (daughter of the owner?) brought us a bag to take home filled with leftovers from the buffet. DH and DreamStar weren't home for dinner, so we had our movie, snacks, and leftover Chinese food this evening. (And there are still MORE leftovers for DH's lunch).
Very sweet of them, wasn't it?
p.s. I tipped well.
p.s.s. DH and DreamStar were at an outdoor concert. It rained. I think SeaStar and I got the better deal.Last edited by Early Bird; 07-30-2009 at 12:10 AM.

What a nice person. Makes you keep your faith in the human race when things like that happen. They need to happen more.
Glad you had a good time.

That was very sweet. They can't re-serve them but didn't have to give them to you. Once I got a garbage bag full of bagels that way. i took them to our church. People can surprise ya.
