OK. I officially hate facebook
Well, not really, there are a lot of good things about it. But, there is a person harassing me and I can't stand it. I used to get that on myspace, so I closed my account, not too much loss there. But facebook? You're not supposed to be able to harass someone there. My husband and I are having problems, and this random girl knows about it and messages me 2 or 3 times a week about things he is doing, etc. She is anonymous, she has a "famous name" as her name and her pic is general. It says she doesn't have a profile, however we arent "friends", so maybe I just can't see it. She messages me once a week "how are you doing?" Usually I answer "Fine" or some other stupid thing. THis time I ignored her and she blasted me and my husband, cursing both of us! I am so sick of it. I have "reported" her to facebook, but according to them she doesn't exist. Like I need more stress in my life. Why do I let this kind of garbage get to me?
Sorry, and thanks for letting me vent.

And that's why I don't do social networking sites. If there is something going on between me and my husband it's our business and I don't get random messages from complete strangers. Outside of family there are maybe 6 people who have my email address. FV is the only place online where I might mention something happening in my life, but I am careful to not reveal personal info. I just don't need the wackos.

Boy this sounds familar. Went through this bull with someone on myspace. You can block her, then she can't contact you. thats what i do on face book.

You can block her. She won't be able to find you in a search. It will be as if you don't exist to her on FaceBook.
I blocked my former step-sister about a year ago.

You need to block her immediately! If somehow not able to, do not respond to anything she sends! I'm sorry you're going through this aggravation.

Update your security/privacy settings. The highest security level makes it so that people can't contact you.

I have no advice besides what's already been mentioned, so I'll send you a ((((hug)))) instead.
Someone sent my sister "cocaine" on facebook. I sure didn't know you could do that. She had to send it to others before she could see who sent it (explaining of course that she was only forwarding it to find the culprit). Well, it turned out to be her husband...who we know for a FACT would never do that, and who swears he didn't.
So someone figured out his password and sent her cocaine?????? CRAZY!Wife to Kevin: 20 years

I'm going to chime in and say you could have changed your privacy settings so that no one but your official friends could contact you, message you, etc. Personally, I love FB - it's free, and as a person with lots of "online" friends its been a great support for me. But trolls, they're everywhere - including FB - and that part sucks.

Change privacy settings so that only friends can message you.
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

That's just the thing I dont understand. I am at the highest security settings. I dont know her. our circle of friends and a few church members know of our issues but I definitely dont go posting them on facebook! I say more about it here than church even - somehow I feel "safe" on this site. Other than that, friends know he moved out, then back in. Some of the not so close friends dont even know why. I will try blocking her and hope that works! Thanks guys!!

Try blocking her. Also know that FaceBook has been hacked and it may not even be her sending it out.

I sent a message to someone this morning that wasn't on MY friend's list, but was on my friend's friend's list.... so I guess it's possible to send a message to anyone that you can find.... ??
did that make sense?
I've also gotten messages from people that aren't on my friend's list yet - never trolls, only people that are friends of friends, etc.... but I also have a high privacy level, so apparently, that won't stop someone from seeing you on someone else's list
hmmmm
BUT I would NEVER respond to anything that makes you uncomfortable - just IGNORE them - don't even open them to read them - just delete.Don't Breed or Buy While Shelter Pets Die

Block her, I had to block a couple of people and they have stayed blocked! I am one who loves facebook too. And believe me people can harass you in real life far more than on facebook! I'd be looking close to home to find out who it is.
